I just purchase this replacement belt at Amazon for $168. The belt is made of flexible plastic material that appears well made and thick and should last a long time. The only draw back is the price. In my opinion, it is not worth 168 dollars and it should be priced well under $100 dollars. You might consider buying a non-Performax brand and save a lot of money.

The original Performax sander came stock with a 100 grit sandpaper conveyor belt. These sandpaper belts were brittle, and I broke two during critical projects. In addition, the sandpaper belts scratched the finished surfaces of stock placed on them. The new poly belt is much more flexible and feeds the wood into the sander much better.
It is expensive, but so is the Performax. However, the finished product will reward you for making the initial investment.
