Arrived Broken October 24, 2009 Charles M. Seth (Pittsburgh, Pa.) Opened the box to find a broken blower( looked like someone sat on it), so called troy bilt, they sent me the parts, big deal, never offered my money back..look else where.....
Eval of Troy-Bilt Blower August 1, 2009 Suds (Tampa, FL USA) Received today. Out of the box; fueled and started effortlessly. Five minutes to unpack, read instructions mix fuel. Used only once, but cleared the garage of dust and leaves quickly, sidewalk no problem. Haven't used the vacuum which isn't a feature I plan on using so can't offer any feedback.
Well engineered and balanced for easy carrying one handed.
Greatly satisfied over two previous blowers I've owned. Five stars plus.
Do NOT buy this blower June 8, 2009 C. DeMatteis (Cincinnati, OH USA) Right after I purchased this product in the fall, it ran ok first couple of times. However, I used it once this spring , took awhile to start and then took several minutes of running to get up to full power. Since then the blower will not restart (even followed troy-bilt's convoluted instructions on side of blower), took it to local Troy-bilt Service, who claims I didn't have the mix right so will not be covered on warranty. I used a 40:1 mix and the same fuel worked fine in my Ryobi 2-cycle engines with no problems.
Bottom line: Blower is too bulky, throttle lever gets in the way, engine is poor quality, waste of money.
Buyer Beware May 8, 2009 Wayne Hunt I purchased my first TB320BV a couple years ago. After 9 months the motor basically burned up with black yuk coming out of the cylinder head. I didn't mis-treat it but I did expect the unit to be able to run 2-3 hours at a time during the Fall season. Anyway, I threw it away and purchased another one, yes, you read right. After less than a year this one burned up as well. The authorized repair shop said "not another one" and not to get my hopes up for a timely repair, he had 3 others in front of mine. I called "Troy Bilt customer service" who gave me the usual "what did I do wrong? Did I follow the manual?" etc. I asked them to call the authorized repair and help me get it repaired. They basically said "not my job mon." So it's still at the repair shop for over a year. If you want a 20 minute blower/vac this may work for you, as for me, Never Ever Again will MTD get my money.
* JUNK: NOT RECOMMENDED!!! March 25, 2009 D. Rose (Harrisburg, PA) Update 04/01/09
After writing my initial review below and only using the TB320BV for 20 minutes, the unit would never start again. I took it into an authorized repair center and they claimed that there was no lubricant in the unit similar to one of the other Amazon reviewers. I assure you I followed the gas/oil ratio instructions perfectly with even buying a new gas can, new unleaded gas and used the oil additive that came with the unit. It didn't make a difference and the repair center said that this issue would not be covered under the warranty and Troy-bilt (MTV) wouldn't budge and only passed me around calling three different toll free numbers to no avail. I strongly recommend you don't buy this unit and hope that Amazaon.com will remove it from there listed sale items.
03/26/09:
I received the Troy-Bilt 31cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered/#TB320BV today and immediately put it use with Spring clean-up. Given this is my third gas powered blower/vac all being different brands I found this model average in weight, good on power when blowing leaves, small sticks, and pine cones; however, I am very disappointed in the start up process that took about 10 pulls following the instructions perfectly. Especially, given the advertisement boasted of slow pull spring assisted start ups. I was also very disappointed that it runs out of gas quickly lasting only 15-20 minutes on full speed. I would have to fill the tank 3-4 times for my 3/4 acre lot that requires weekly cleanup due to trees and stong winds. All-in-all I would not recommend this model at all unless you have light use or a smaller yard. Please note the return policy before you buy. Amazon is lacking in their return policy, which should give you pause.
