 Great product for the price October 16, 2009

After much research, I decided to purchase the DeWalt angle grinder because of the brand reliability and quality. The price was comparable to other brands of lesser quality, and the kit comes with a case which is very convenient.
The product has gotten lots of abuse in cutting brick pavers, cutting of bolts, and grinding. The quick-release guard makes it very easy to change positions, and helps to get it out of the way to tighten the disc as well.
Construction is solidly made, and will definitely recommend the DeWalt product line.

So far, I can't find any fault with this grinder. I have used it for cutting metal, surface grinding and grinding away rusted nuts/bolts. The lock nut is easy to loosen/tighten, there's plenty of torque, the shield is easily adjusted, the paddle switch is easy to operate while still having a slight bit of "double push" mechanism for safety. The only minor complaint I have is that stuffing the cord back in the case is a little bit of a tight fit but livable.

THe tools I buy from Amazon,which are Dewalt, are outstanding. Wheather they are new or rebuilt they still are working . I have 8 tools , 4 new and 4 rebuilt, and no problems.Also the price is oustanding. Buying from Lowes or Homedepot costs twice as much. Amazon .com is the way to shop.

This grinder was everything I expected. I bought it specifically for cutting natural stone that I put on a firplace. It performed wonderfully and went though the stone like a hot knife through butter. I highly recommend diamond blades for cutting masonry and stone products. They are worth the extra cost. This grinder does not bog down even when cutting stone. I highly recommend spending the extra money for the extra quality of this product.

I searched the on-line, and the big box stores for a good grinder. Purchased a 7 amp Milwaukee from H.D. brought it home plugged it in without a wheel and turned it on. I thought what the h is this piece of crap. It sounded as though it would come apart at any moment. Took it back for a refund and told them the reason for the return was that it was junk in my opinion and that I had a 6 amp 30 yr old Black & Decker that sounded better. Finally decided on this DeWalt and could not be more pleased with it. Bought it at a local Sears for $[...], sorry Amazon, but didn't want to wait for the shipping especially with getting it a little cheaper too. Used it to cut the lower rh skin panel from my Chevy van that was in dire need of replacement. Worked like a dream. Very powerful, didn't bog down and ran fairly cool for a 10 amp grinder. The paddle switch is a must to have no matter which brand you chose. Great safety feature. I like that fact that it came with a hard plastic carrying case also which most don't unless you pay extra. Buy it you'll love it!!
