great little compressor September 9, 2008 Neal289 (LexPk, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this to replace a 15+ year old IR. Cycles very quickly and has ample volume and working pressure to operate large framing nailer. Unit is compact, sturdy and despite its weight is fairly easily moved around with attached handle. It has 2 output air chucks which was a bonus as I couldn't tell from image or description. Not too loud either. Easy on/off switch. I expect this to be around for a long, long time. Very happy with purchase, highly recommend.
Ingersoll-Rand DD2T2 Compressor September 8, 2008 Mike in Orange MA (MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great Compressor, quickly achieves full pressure, and has a very fast recovery. It's also quiet, especially when compared to the oil-less unit which it replaced. It's compact. I liked that there was no set up or fitting installation required. All I had to do was install the dipstick and check the oil, and I was off and running. I'm very happy with the quality and the purchase.
Holy Cow--It Is The Mirror Image June 5, 2008 Leland Taylor (North Highlands, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This compressor is the spitting mirror image of the Hitachi EC-12 two-horse Oiled Twin Hot Dog four gallon, 65 pound Portable Compressor. I do not own this unit, but if it IS a twin to my Hitachi Hitachi EC12 14.5 Amp 2 Horsepower 4 Gallon Oiled Twin Hot Dog Compressor , this should be a very good compressor with 4+ SCFM @ 90 psi. My question of this unit, as on the Hitachi, is to locate the check valve body and learn how to replace the check valve poppet, a neoprene piece that seals the pressure in the tank so that it does not pressurize the outlet of the pump after it shuts down. That pressure would prevent the restart of the pump and result in blown breakers. The Hitachi poppets can be obtained for about $7, and they harden with stress & air pollution and can result in the tank mysteriously draining the air on shutdown after about 4 or 5 years. (I searched online & found IR DD2T2 check valve assembly for $48--unknown if rebuildable--suggest you check locally for parts.) I hope my experience elsewhere can help someone here. I also use a simple 2 gal auxiliary remote airtank on a 3/8" X 50-to-100 ft hose so I don't have to carry the compressor and use long extension cords. See my reviews.
Best little compressor in town. June 5, 2008 Jeffery Jones (Mocksville NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Running several framing crews with larger units, we always have a need for smaller units for punchout work. Impulse units simply cost too much to operate on site all day (do the math). Setting the unit up you can easily run 2, even more nailers on this pump. The pump size and volume is what is important not just the size of the tank. It does no good to have a 60 gallon tank if it take an hour to recover (had this proplem with other smaller pumps like Bostage). All said and done great little pump very dependable unit. My oldest one is 8 years old.

Received compressor with a broken gauge. Called the parts and service department and received a new gauge with next day delivery. Compressor works great!
