Seriously? September 7, 2008 S. Taroli (wyoming) Well, this compressor worked only after I removed the housing and actually installed the moter mount screws! There were two out of four missing, causing me to basically pull the top off the thing when getting it out of the box. Also immediately had to adjust the release valve (not normal) so the thing would stop running. There is ZERO quality control on this thing, but if you spend some time fixing it (right out of the box) it should work alright. The Finish gun also leaks at the trigger... again right out of the box. This setup does do what I need it to, but unless you like to repair brand new tools, I would not recommend .Sorry.
Just what the Dr. ordered ! ! ! ! August 30, 2008 MacMan (Philadelphia) Bostitch CPACK3 Finish Nailer, Brad Nailer, Finish Stapler, and Compressor Combo Kit I was undecided between the Bostitch and Porter Cable combo kits. Different warranties, different max. pressure, etc. Reviews of each were good so I figured it came down to price. I had received an email or flyer with a special deal on the Bostitch, $223 including shipping for a new one. That pretty much made my decision. Item arrived quickly and safely. I took it out of the box, looked thru the manuals, plugged the compressor in, attached the hose, put nails in all the guns, tested each and they worked beautifully. Could not ask for more. I am very happy with the purchase. I am an occasional user and will not be using this thing every weekend. Some people complain about the noise. I expected the compressor to be louder ...... but then I am used to my 33 gal. compressor in the garage. When that thing kicks in it will startle you. If the volume of the Bostitch bothers you then place the compressor behind a wall or another room if available. It comes with a 20ft. hose. You will not be disappointed.
Why did I wait so long August 28, 2008 David Fletcher (Knoxville, TN USA) I am a casual woodworker and up until now could not justfy purchasing a nailer. I planned a somewhat a major project so consulted with a remodeling contractor friend of mine who has 3 Porter Cable nailers and he convinced me it was a good investment. I purchase a lot of items from Amazon so came here to order but in doing so came across the Bostich nailer. that was $50 less than Porter Cable for the same thing. I could find nothing really negatvie about Bostich so for the price difference decided to take the plunge. I just finished constructing a bookcase and filing cabinet and could not beleive how much easier a nailer makes your life. I have probably driven over 100 nails so far and only had one minor easily correctible problem with the Bostich. Bottoom line, if you have been on the fence about ordering don't, you will not regret it. The kit comes with everything you need including nails. The compressor is a little loud but that would be true of any nailer that uses a compressor. If the noise bothers you just place compressor in a seperate room since the kit comes with a 40 foot hose. You may not want to leave it plugged in if you have compressor in the house. My tank allows air to escape very slowly so one night about 3 AM, my wife awoke me in a panic not knowing what the sound was. It doesn't run but a minute or so.
A++++++++++++++++++ August 16, 2008 K. Meyers Great product at a great price. Compressor does run pretty loud, but at the price, you can't beat it.
do you know where the service center is August 2, 2008 Abdullahel Paiker (Bethlehem, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The product works fine. From day 1, air started leaking from right below where the two gauges are. Returning 60lb item is not easy. So, I decided to take it to the service center and it is 32 miles away. I have to drop-off and pick up a week later. Which means I have to drive 128 miles.
