Nice Tomahawk November 21, 2009 Michael LaBossiere (Tallahassee, FL) I purchased this after seeing a History Channel show on axes and thought it would be interesting to have a "tactical" tomahawk. When I was a kid, my family was involved in the Revolutionary war re-enactments (a popular thing in the 1970s) and I was familiar with old style tomahawks.
While this product is obviously not on par with the top of the line models (which cost in the hundreds of dollars) it is solidly made, reasonable well balanced and sturdy. As the picture shows, it has a "spike" on one end, suitable for punching holes in things (the original tomahawk lacked a spike, although some other fighting axes were spiked-mainly to pierce metal armor).
Overall, it is a nice tomahawk to throw around a bit. Just don't scare the neighbors.
What makes a man? November 15, 2009 Wade This Tomahawk.
This thing is solid, apparently there were some issues with its handle back in the day?
It's been fixed. I have thrown this multiple times and no issues yet, comes sharp out of the box. Great tool to have in your hiking pack, or just around your farm.
Great for the money.
I would buy multiple October 12, 2009 B. Carlock I used this to pay hommage to my cherokee heritage and it is a light, sturdy tomahawk that is perfect for throwing. Also it's extremely sharp. I recommend buying one.
Great product at a great price! October 8, 2009 N. Dobbs (Indianapolis, IN) I've seen this particular model on eBay for $50! Can't beat the price Amazon has set on this one! This tomahawk ships extremely sharp, after I unpacked it; I took it out side and started chopping wood. This thing chopped right through a 15" diameter chunk of wood without much fuss ( using proper chopping technique ).
The only caveat that I see with this product is the pointed end I'd prefer this to ship much sharper as it didn't stick into wood like I had expected. I have sharpened it with a diamond sharpener that alleviated this issue. This axe is very light I have attached it to my pack for backwoods camping. The I'm skittish of the handle because I don't really trust the composite albeit it appears very sturdy.

Didn't use. Looks to be good quality. I returned it, preferring not to go with SOG's cheaper imported Fusion line. Will purchase SOG's main line.
