For tough jobs like lifting linoleum, carpet, adhesive residue, scale, paint, and tape, choose the Fein 63903178017 Rigid Scraper Blade, which can be re-sharpened for longer blade life. This system also includes the efficient Fein 63502106015 HSS Segmented Blade for fiberglass, carbon fiber, 20 gauge sheet metal, and harder woods. Segmented to cut right angles without over cutting, this flat, high-speed steel blade performs straight cutting in harder material, and can cut into corners with right angles. The system also includes one Fein 63502118016 Carbide-Tip Blade for cutting out damaged tile joints and for carving out grooves in plaster, porous concrete and similar construction materials. A Fein 63731001014 Carbide Rasp allows for rough grinding of filler, tile adhesives, concrete, stone, and wood, and may be used with or without the included Fein 92602081010 Dust Extraction Kit.  Useless blades, replacements very expensive November 23, 2009

The case is cheap and won't open flat.
The combo saw blade had all the teeth ground down flat after flush cutting one (that's ONE!) sheet metal screw. The remaining screws were flush cut with a bimetal Sawzall blade which showed exactly zero wear afterwards.
Replacement blades are listed for 20 bucks or so for a single blade. This might be reasonable if they weren't complete junk.
I'll be looking into aftermarket blades, more for quality than for cost.
Save your money, wait for Festool or Bosch or someone to make a similar tool that isn't a complete rip-off.

I have had the Multi-Master for over a year now and don't have any complaints with the quality of the tool. It's a tool you can live without forever until you use one, then you can't get along without it. It's like a surgical tool for remodeling work. If you can afford it I would reccomend the cordless model for convenience.
The reason I would never purchase another Multi-Master is the rediculous price of replacement blades. What are these people thinking??? It's one thing to come up with the cash to buy the machine in the first place but to charge as much as they do for the replacement blades is OBSCENE, and they don't last very long AT ALL.
Just on the basis of the blade cost I would (and do) tell poeple to stay away from the Multi-Master and get a machine that uses more reasonably price blades. I'm about ready to park the Multi-master and try a cordless Bosch machine. I can buy the Bosch machine for less than the cost of four Fein replacement blades.

Fein Multimaster,
I needed to sand in a very tight place, and over 40'.
I was very impressed, it sands as well as my random orbital.
I watched an installer use his to cut in a awkward spot with no problems.
I am very pleased.

Great Tool Fein is always the better choice. I compared the customer reports about the other Models that Sears have and Rockwell and no contest.

I give a 4 star to the tool, 1 star to blazes.
I could not believe how fast the blazes get dull, the price for replacement is scary, stay away if you can.
There are generic blaze available on internet, don't know if they are good quality, but for sure i'll never buy Feit's,
Greedy manufacturer, very good advertisement.
