Ridiculously bright for something so tiny! November 15, 2009 PixelBrat (Ellijay, GA) Wow, this flashlight is ridiculously bright for something so tiny! I'm very impressed. It was much smaller than I thought, which makes the brightness that much more amazing. I would give this flashlight 5 stars if it had a button to turn it on rather than the twisting action. Being able to use it one handed and without worry that it would come unscrewed in your pocket would be a big plus. Otherwise, great flashlight.
Miniscule and Super Bright November 10, 2009 Chris Read This thing is so small that you might think it's a joke. Point it away from your face, this is no joke. It's SUPER BRIGHT. Hang it outside your pocket or it can become unwittingly turned on (and discharged), unscrewed, or lost in your pocket change. Be careful where you put it; it's so small it can get lost under just about anything.
Minor fixable quibble: The "reflector" is black. Carefully remove it and paint its inside bright white and you will get appreciably more (and more diffuse) light from an already fantastically bright flashlight. (I used masking tape and a light coat of spray paint.) DON'T PAINT IT IF LOOKS ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU. This thing is so small that any paint that "migrates" will be very difficult to clean.
Unscrews itself in your pocket November 8, 2009 G. Smith (Charleston, SC USA) A very well made, well-functioning product but a big disadvantage is that on a period of about two weeks in my pocket (I carry it on my keychain) it becomes unscrewed and the four small batteries fall out into my pocket. A little difficult to get the batteries back in the right way though certainly not impossible. Bigger risk is loosing half the unit and having to buy another one. If they could fix this problem this little flashlight would be perfect.
Not quite there yet. November 3, 2009 Robert Jones (MI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought two of these and had problems with one out of the box. The other one will probably malfunction soon. Here's why:
LED: great
case: great - cool looking
switch: poor
the light turns on and off by twisting the upper bezel assembly. This basically screws a single leaf contact into a the upper battery. There are two problems with the design 1) too much play in the screw mechanism 2) a very primitive single leaf contact.
What is all this geek speak? When you screw down the light you get almost 1/4 turn between "full on" and "full off". Everything between is flickering. What this means is that you can untwist is to turn it off, only to have it turn back on in your pocket. More practically, the switch just screams bad design and low quality because you're not confident if it's really on or off unless you make several tries.
This is fixable.... Hopefully they can correct in their next generation.
fell apart October 28, 2009 J. A. Savage (CA USA) When I needed it there was no insides to produce light, fell apart in weeks.
