Quality Quite Disappointing September 17, 2009 Kittysmommy (Noblesville, IN) I ordered this play food set for my 2 1/2 y/o daughter's Step 2 Play Kitchen. I was looking for an assortment of a wide variety of more realistic play food than what I've previously purchased. Based on previous reviews and this set being a Step 2 product, I was expecting better quality for the price I paid. The set I received included the cardboard items that you have to put together that are easily destroyed (I had read another review that these had been done away with)and several of the items my husband and I cannot tell what they are supposed to be. The plastic is very cheap and the overall quality and appearance of the items is not at all close to what I was expecting. I recall having very realistic play food for my kitchen when I was a child, like a sunny-side up egg that was realistic looking and made of rubber, etc... Unfortunately, I don't want to deal with the hassle of returning the set, so now we're stuck with it.
Will not last long August 20, 2009 C. Baker (Marine base Okinawa Japan) My son likes to actually chew the play food. When play cooking. So this didn't last very long. Not to mention some of the pieces are unbeliveably small(like the chicken)! I also ordered the wooden food along with this and it is great! Not to mention he plays with it alot more.
cheap price, cheap product June 1, 2009 t&c mom (queens, ny) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
you get what you pay for. i was looking for play food a bit more realistic and a better mix of fruits and vegetables. some of the stuff looked like vomit-mmmmmm tasty. but my daughter does like it and that is who it is for in the end.
Good Toy May 27, 2009 A. West This set has many different kinds of foods, even some that we can't identify. The only thing that would make this toy better would be if the set came with a list of what things were.
Lots of pieces for a toddler to play with April 11, 2009 MDmommy (Columbia, MD) These pieces fit perfectly with the Step 2 Deluxe Kitchen. My 2 year old son does like to play with these food pieces when he is pretending in his play kitchen. However, he also likes to dump all of the pieces all over the floor.
If you don't mind a messy play area, then I recommend this product. It's also a great tool to use for toddlers to recognize and learn various food items.
