Doesn't work - except on me November 12, 2009 amriser (Portland, OR USA) The cats are still pooping in my gravel bed - and I don't want to go out there because of the assault on my ears before I am able to reach the unit to turn it off.
Good-bye neighbor CATS November 1, 2009 Tj Johnson (Arizona) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This has worked for me. I can see the red led light "on" and so when the batteries need to be replaced~~I think that red led light will be "off", and know it is time to replace the batteries. It also has an "off-on" switch~~so when the cats are gone for good...I can bring it back into the house to store it.
I used my small white plastic end table and placed the Repeller on it. Then left it where the cats walk by the side of my house~~and I haven't seen them back.
But then I saw they were drinking from my fountain... I just moved the table to another end of my back yard to be close to the fountain~~and it must be working because I haven't seen any more CATS.
I do wish there would be a leash-law for CATS!!! Dang it!! TJ

This seems to work. In addition to keeping dogs off the yard, it has made a few neighbors mad.
Worked for a year and started making noise June 9, 2009 B. Sperry (Calif.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After a year I have the audible high-pitched sound on mine too and it now makes the device too noisy to operate. I think it has to do with a moisture problems in the unit that occurs after being outdoors in the elements. I looked inside the unit and aside from rust on the battery plates, nothing seems visually degraded. It would be really nice if I could order parts to repair the unit (I'm a techie though). Due to the initial success I am seeking to buy another one, it might be this one, but I'm not sure.
Over the last year this animal repeller worked quite well at keeping the mischievous raccoons out of the yard. I bought another one and gave it to a friend with a deer problem as she lives next to parkland and it's hard to tell about the deer that haven't been around as much, but she did say the rats haven't been around her front porch anymore.
I don't know how the batteries died in such a short time in the unit Canada, the ones in ours lasted at least 6 months, if not more (perhaps a year?). I'm wondering if keeping the unit out of the rain might help.
not woooorking at all for dogs. May 25, 2009 Emmanuelle Michaud (Ottawa, ON Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I see no more birds in my yard but the dog keeps on running through the garden.
+ high consumption of batteries : 6C each 2 weeks ?
I dont think so, out to the yard sale you go, useless green object...
