Product Description
This book provides an in-depth view of the mechanical and electrical systems in construction, followed by a step-by-step approach to the design of each system. Intended to provide an introduction to building mechanical and electrical design concepts and principles, this major revision is written for all those involved in the construction industry. Elementary engineering concepts and design principles are introduced in a straightforward manner and presented on an elementary mathematics level; requiring students to have a working knowledge of algebra. This book addresses the growing complexity of design standards and regulations and rapid changes in new building technologies, which in turn is expanding the role of the architectural and engineering technician. For those interested in the design of building electrical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and telecommunications systems.

Cheaper then the bookstore October 29, 2008 Nadia A. Willett 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The condition of the book was great. They only thing is that it arrived one day later then expected. Not really a big deal.
A good introductory overview - but a little weak on real world applications September 11, 2008 J. F. Mccarthy (Chicago, IL USA) This book uniquely covered the traditional construction management subjects of estimating, scheduling, control, then added preconstruction activities and project delivery methods, followed by construction law and safety. These subject, which are integrated together in the work world, are usally found in 3-4 different books. Some additional depth, such as adding order of magnitude estimating, and estimating by assemblies, was a welcome addition. A little more "this is how it is really done in the real world" would have been helpful.Choosing Project Success - A Guide for Building Professionals
Great book November 5, 2006 E. Carroll (Raleigh, NC) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great book to learn Enviroment Systems. Gave me an A in the course. Easy to read, and follow. Filled with much needed charts, tables, and pictures. I recommend for this subject

This book was written by my old professor at wentworth institute of technology. Although he only gave me a B in the class i have to say the book was written very well ;). It is designed to give the reader important information of construction management in a very basic way. If you are a beginner in the construction business you can not go wrong with this book.
