The only safe way to shingle a steep roof. October 1, 2008 Guy Beasley (Ladson, SC) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My wife and I are building our own home without contractors. The roof has a 12/12 pitch. I would not have been able to shingle it (24 squares!) without these roof jacks. Remember you'll need a few of them. You have to keep the lower levels so you can climb to the next level(s). You also need the lower levels to stand on to build or remove the upper level. They should be spaced no more than 8 feet horizontally. I went 10 feet with no problem. Get the wide size. You'll appreciate the extra width to place tools and shingles. I used a 2x8 and a 2x4. It was too hard to handle a 2x12.
Essential for Work on the Roof January 5, 2007 George Hacker (Battle Ground, WA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used these brackets to make a platform that I could use for housepainting. They worked great! I wish I would have discovered these devices earlier in my home repair career.
An inexpensive solution to a steep roof job. November 13, 2006 jim c (Keyser, WV USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These are rather basic brackets although they are adjustable. Finish is nothing special and probably dunked in paint and sent through a dryer. Hinge is painted shut when received but breaks free for job setup. Worked very well and held a treated 2 x 10 securely to serve as a solid platform.
roofing brackets got the job done November 3, 2006 Sandra Tkach (usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
thankyou for the roofing brackets. We put up a 9/12 pitch roof with skylights. Never could have done it with out the adjustable Brackets.
Thanks
Must have for steep roofs. July 24, 2006 S. Bradford (Arlington, VA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I just finished reroofing my house and I used 8 of these brackets on my 12/12, 15 square roof. They are easy to install and remove, and take up little space when folded for storage. I also used a ladder in between levels of planks to minimize the number of jacks I had to install. These are cheap and make roofing so much easier. The adjustibility is also nice. Highly recommended.
