This vent kit was a replacement for the first one we installed 12 yrs ago. It lasted through 11 Maine winters. This unit keeps the cold air from seeping back into the dryer area, eliminating drafts.It was easy to install and worked perfectly without any adjusting. Recommended to everyone.

Deceptive advertisement and pricing by Amazon.com and Battic Door. Under the website section "What Do customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item?" - first item listed is the Super-efficient dryer vent for $18.98, with 44% buying this item. The second item is the Lambro #289W vent listed at $16.45 with 16% buying this item.
We ordered the first item but received the second item, the Lambro vent. We contacted the seller, Battic Door, through Amazon.com. Battic Door's response was "These are the same item. You received the item you ordered. It is now packaged in a new carton so the box is slightly different than shown but it is the same item. We will refund you the $2.50 difference."
Two different items listed, different pricing, 44% buy one item, 16% buy the other item, but yet they are the same? Somebody needs to clean up their act.
Comments on the vent - I have not yet installed the vent. Compared to local hardware store vents similar in design - I like the latch for the top door. Some do not have a latch and appears that the top cover could come off easily. But the Lambro bottom elbow system is made in two parts and assembled with a few gaps between the parts. Local store items viewed had a one-piece lower elbow system without gaps.

My dryer had been very slow to dry my clothes so I decided to clean out the all the lent that I could. When I took the silver tube off the dryer, I discovered about a gallon of dryed leaves in the dryer. These had been sucked up from outside. I didn't know that a dryer suck in air before it started drying. This vent makes it impossible for a dryer to suck in anything. I had a friend who had mice getting into her dryer. Do not make the same mistake I did. If you buy the item from Battic Door Energy Conservation Products, they will send you the Lambro #289W, which is sold at $11.99. They post a different picture and model # to make you think you are buying a different product, but you are actually buying the Lambro #289W 4" Dry Vent Seal.

It has worked very well exhausting the dryer's air,
but allowing no outside air in.
