Great Fan but fan blades hit mounting screws when mounts are attached!!! August 30, 2010

The fan looks great and works great but I was forced to use the old housing from the attic fan which came with my house. The problem is that when we attached the mounts with the screws provided, the fan blades did not turn freely without striking the screws. The fan is working fine with my old fan housing which incidentally is much heavier duty and more sturdy. For the price, I am happy and very fortunate that I had an old fan housing available to me. If this was my initial attic fan, I would be returning this item. Also, of note, nowhere on the box did the word Ventamatic appear which leads me to believe that this was not the item I paid for but a substitute. Nonetheless, I am happy with the fact that I have a working attic fan for under $50. Hopefully this thing will work for a while.

Cool fan, bad thermal switch August 27, 2010

This CX1500 would be perfect if the thermal switch working. I had to use a timer in place of the thermal switch. It helps cool the house down to reasonable temperature. I can hear the fan noise only if I pay attention to it.
