Amazon.com Product Description Mid-size backpack blower for both the professional and homeowner
On March 1, 1998, Tanaka became the first two-stroke manufacturer to certify to the stringent C.A.R.B. Tier II emissions regulations. While most other manufacturers tried to fight the standard and say that it could not be done with two-stroke, Tanaka did it. Today, all Tanaka products comply with EPA phase 2 regulations and all Tanaka product groups are C.A.R.B Tier II compliant.

| Customer Reviews: Tanaka Midsize blower rocks! January 27, 2010 Thorn Ford (Pacific Northwest) I took it out of the box, put it together, filled it with gas and completely cleaned the yard in half the time than it took with the old hand held blower. It's a little heavier than I anticipated, but once it was on my back it made no difference.
great quality product December 11, 2009 Roger L. Smith (cincinnati) japanese built top quality good blend of power vs weight vs noise 1st pull starts had it one season with proper care looks like it will last a long time
I love Mr. Tanaka! November 30, 2009 C. Henderson (Atlanta, GA) I couldn't be more pleased with this blower. It arrived in a timely fashion, was easy to assemble (and I am NOT mechanically inclined), and best of all it started on the first pull of the cord. I use it weekly, and just wish I had not wasted my time with a hand held blower for so many years.
Outstanding Blower August 22, 2009 James V. Gargani (Boston, MA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Having used low-end consumer gas blowers for years, I finally gave up and bought the Tanaka 43cc Backpack Blower.
It's amazing the difference between what I've had and this unit. It starts on the first pull even if the pull is half-hearted. The air force is perfect for a normal sized yard without ripping up the grass. The control of arm is just superb as you move about; it feels very natural.
It does get a bit heavy on your back after a while and it isn't a gas/oil sipper.
With a three year consumer warranty and being nearly fully assembled out of box, you can't go wrong. Trust me, you will love using this thing and wonder why you didn't buy a blower of the caliber of this unit sooner. The quality of this Japanese-made blower is quite evident.
Also, as another review noted, the instruction manual is absolutely berserk and useless. You have to see it to believe it. I rate it by far the worst manual I've ever seen, but if you've had other 2-stroke tools, you could figure things out.
very easy to use April 27, 2009 Dr. Donald W. Klopp 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
very ez to use and assemble from the box ( no tools needed ) the direction booklet was (is) useless unable to read 75% of text and diagrams are barely seen---seems booklet is a copy from a copy machine out of toner -- called company = so far no response. But, other than that am very pleased with power and quality dr.k maine
