Prevents Buildup; Removes Clogs

Never use plungers or harsh chemicals again. | The PermaFLOW's patented design ensures that you won't need to open your drain, call the plumber, use harsh chemicals, get out your plunger, or wrestle with your snake the next time you have a clog--just turn the external knob on the PermaFLOW's integrated, drain-clearing wiper to clear out blockage. Also great for low-flow faucets, this "no-pain drain" has a unique shape that generates a surge of water that will clean your pipe, providing the extra muscle needed to flush unwanted debris and prevent the buildup that causes slow draining. This will not only save you from headaches, but it will also save water by helping your drain work efficiently at low flow rates. Additionally, a clever bypass option lets water flow through the PermaFLOW's upper chamber in case of an emergency buildup in your pipe, meaning there's no down time and no waiting for your pipe to be serviced. Transparent Design Prevents Potential Problems The PermaFLOW Drain's transparent design eliminates any drain mysteries--just look to determine if the drain has developed buildup and turn the wiper to see if the clog is gone. You can even see items that you may have accidentally dropped down the drain, such as wedding rings or small toys. Turn the wiper to elevate the item and then retrieve it with a coat hanger, hook, or other household tool. Just think--you'll be able to diagnose and troubleshoot drain problems without exposing yourself to nasty sewer gases and messy disassembly! Simple Installation for Ease of Use The time-saving PermaFLOW features easy installation, a universal design that fits standard drains, and construction that looks great even under open-pedestal sinks. Retrofitting older, P-trap drains is a cinch with the included adaptors that fit standard 1-1/2-inch (kitchen) and 1-1/4-inch (bath) plumbing. The adaptors are compatible with virtually any pipe material.

Drained November 22, 2009 Bad girl (new york city) 4 out of 20 found this review helpful
I am a single woman with a single daughter who should have been moved out years ago! For years My bathroom sink would clog leading to use some very strong chemicals or calling on my boy friend to remove the drain and remove the debris. usually lots of hair. I ordered this and presented this task to my boyfriend who was skeptical at first but the knob impressed him. The installation was easy, so easy I know I could have done it myself. But I digressed and let him be the hero. ( I want a man to feel like a man.) He did use plumbers tape to provide a seal. This Drain works flawlessly and the knob to help speed hairy sludge along? It Works! Yeah Plumbers are scared of this product. You won't need strong chemicals or big manpower for your bathroom sink. Clearly the industry has been set on it's ear and will post negative reviews without even using the product! Amazing being a woman living alone and growing older by the second this will save many bills down the line. I am looking for many maintenance free products as I grow older and my base finances grow smaller. It is clear, you can see the obstruction or lost item. It's easy to remove or turn the knob! I will have to use my strong able bodied boyfriend for something else, my imagination runs wild. Hmmm maybe take Home Chef, yard crasher? Bedroom makeover oh yeah! I got a fertile imagination.Something Else (CD+DVD)
Brilliant. October 31, 2009 T. Sabo (Tampa, FL USA) 2 out of 14 found this review helpful
Absolutely brilliant. I love it when someone challenges something as simple as a P-Trap, something that's been the standard forever and makes one of those "I should've thought of that" products.
I'll tell you why I wouldn't purchase this item October 30, 2009 scoobydude (Princeville, HI United States) 65 out of 144 found this review helpful
This is a nifty-looking drain, but it's just not practical. What you have here is a solution in search of a problem. I mean, think about it... how often do you really call a plumber to unclog your kitchen or bathroom sink?
You will need to remove your existing P-trap to install this one. That's essentially how you can solve the problem that this thing is designed to prevent. In other words, if your drain is clogged, pull off the p-trap and take a look inside. Problem solved, $20 saved.
If your drain is getting clogged more than once every few years, stop and figure out WHY. You either have an undersized drain pipe, or you're dumping lard and hair down the drain.
Next, that wheel on the side is attached to a shaft which passes through the pipe. Even though it appears to have o-rings sealing it, I can tell you that it is located in a place where you don't need another reason for a leak to form. In other words, you're replacing a completely sealed tube with a tube that has a means from which to leak water and eventually ruin your cabinet base.
Finally, installing this thing in place of your existing p-trap isn't going to be as easy as they imply... unless you already happen to have new pipes under your sink. Your existing pipes are likely to have issues that prevent you from just slipping this thing in place. They will be worn, corroded, etc. Then, you're gonna need a plumber... or at least a trip to Home Depot to put the old p-trap back.
Is it legal in your area? October 13, 2009 Ruel L. Smith (Cincinnati, OH) 55 out of 124 found this review helpful
I'm a plumber, and many of you will not care about this issue because you don't understand the risks of bad plumbing, but many traps are not legal, by code, in many areas. There is good reason why they are banned in the code. For instance, bottle traps are not permitted where I live because you can't see the actual trap. Who's to say the divider is even in there and actually trapping anything? Though this device looks relatively harmless, it may not be appropriate in your area because it's not permissible by code, and there probably is a reason that it's not. Please check with a licensed plumber before installing a device such as this. Sewer gas is of major concern to the health of your family. There are minimum trap seal requirements by code to ensure that your family does not have to breath it and that the trap stays sealed.
It's awesome! Buy with your eyes shut! May 13, 2009 Partha Ghosal (Houston, Texas United States) 9 out of 32 found this review helpful
Guess what! It's such a big peace of mind to know that your drain pipe is transparent. Even when I don't own a diamond ring that could get lodged there!
Even my very experienced grey-haired ARS guy the other day was awestruck when he saw that. "Where did you get that? It's amazing!" he remarked. It felt good that I was ahead of his other customers and creating a new market trend.
Ever since I have installed this, drain clog has been a thing of the past.
