Don't be fooled! October 16, 2009 Lucia Zablah Siri (Nueva San Salvador, El Salvador) This is definitely NOT the biblical story of Queen Esther and the King.
If you are looking for a hollywood classic that is not true to the bible, then this might be for you.
If what you are seeking is for a movie of the story of Queen Esther this is NOT the product for you! The only thing it has in common with the bible story are the names! In this case I would suggest you purchase The Bible - Esther or One Night With the King
If you need examples of why this movie is not bibilical at all, let me explain (WARNING: SPOILER IN THE NEXT SENTENCES):
I was shocked when in the first ten minutes of the movie, there was a scene of adultery committed between Vashti and Haman! When the king returns from war, he is greeted by "Lord Mordecai"!!(??) then, in the celebration in the palace, Queen Vashti danced in a bikini like a regular Shakira in front of all the guests, and ended the dance in front of the king, in defiance, ripping off her top!! The king, angered, later orders a servant to smother Vashti with a pillow and kill her!! All this in the first 25 mins of the movie!! Need I say more???
nice story June 15, 2008 Mrs. Sarah Sambo (aruba) if there ever was a love story in the bible this one is it. very beautiful
big mistake March 9, 2008 Wyote (Seoul) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Fortunately this is cheap, and anyway I didn't really have a choice to buy it. All the negative reviews are right.
In fact, I strongly suspect this is bootlegged. It sure looks like it. I can't believe any legitimate company would produce such a shoddy disk.
It works, but barely; so unless you really want it, I recommend something else. Practically anything else.
Not the best Quality ! November 24, 2007 T. Santana (US) If you expect a DVD quality , please don't . The sound its not the best either, but you still can hear it , is not been remastered since it was released I believe. The good thing about this movie is in Full screen format. Until a better comes out ( if it does) this is a "good" option !!
Esther & King/David & Goliath September 26, 2007 Marilyn Sterling (Beaumont, TX United States) The DVD arrived in excellent condition. I would buy from this person at anytime in the future.
