Product Description A typical high school senior and his father are about as close as they can get but theyre about to become even closer. In one split second father and son accidentally change bodies. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 03/22/2005 Starring: Kirk Cameron Dudley Moore Run time: 99 minutes Rating: Pg13
Amazon.com Was it something in the water? In the late 1980s, Hollywood came up with no fewer than three different versions of the same story: A child's mind winds up in an adult's body and (usually) vice versa. In fact, that was the name of one of them, Vice Versa. The other one was Big. This one, which starred Dudley Moore and Kirk Cameron, was perhaps the weakest of the group, with Moore as a heart surgeon and Cameron as his goofy kid; they change places and must cope with each other's problems for a day. But Cameron isn't much of an actor and Moore can't stop mugging long enough to show us that he's playing a teen in an adult body. --Marshall Fine

Rules so bad July 25, 2008 Strep Cvnt Listen. We all know that Judge Reinhold and Fred Savage and blah blah were "bigger stars" and the age difference stuff and all that. Yes. We know. But this movie is unbelievable. The plot is done over and over, yeah, but having Dudley Moore playing a just-became-a teenager, and Kirk Cameron "playing" an uptight father, Sean Astin...."Trigger"...hell yeah, what a killer name for a sidekick. The 80's will come back for everyone who watches this. Basically, this movie works because of all the right plot twists. It's just as good as Vice Versa or all the other "switch movies" Just get it, you won't be disappointed.
NOT THE BEST SWITCH COMEDIES BUT STILL ENTERTAINING March 26, 2007 ! MR. KNOW IT ALL ;-b (TRI STATE AREA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This premise has been used so many times it's a wonder any of these films could be worth watching. Like all of these switch comedies, they work mostly because of the stars doing what they can with the weak material. It is a funny movie, but it has been done better. Vice Versa may have come out after this, but I think it is much funnier. Girls who have a crush on "Kirk" probably think this is the best switch comedy, but for the rest of us, it's just OK. ;-b
Rare Laserdiscs - dvds Movies Collector. April 17, 2006 Baldwin (KUWAIT,Sabahiya) Like Father, Like Son IS One Of My Favorite Movies,I bought The dvd,heh great Movie,Trading places has never been Funnier,,Kirk Cameron did a good role,I hope LISTEN TO ME Will Come Out on dvd Soon,I have it On LASER DISC But i am waitin 'til It Comes Out on dvd as well to get it :)
Trading places has never been funnier... September 9, 2005 B. Ravitch (The "OC", CA) how true and right they are...in this classic film which came BEFORE! Vice Versa, might i add...combined hilarity, humility and most of all hijinks! dudley moore and kirk cameron team up with the help of the acting chops of one sean astin, who might i say has a resume that dreams are made of...(toy soldiers, white water summer, goonies, and encino man) to play out this classic role reversal comedy. i personally own this and vice versa but only because im such a huge judge reinhold fan...however if u are looking for stellar acting, a great plot and something WIHTOUT any of fred savages little flubs here or there then this is the movie for u, your children and your childrens children.
Great film! March 11, 2005 andy8047 (Nokomis,Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Dr. Jack Hammond(the late Dudley Moore) is a hospital worker who ends up,surgically, switching personalities with his high school son(Kirk Cameron). Now,Jack is in high school and his kid is working in the hospital. How hilarious is that? At the time of filming,Cameron was the star of the ABC sitcom Growing Pains and a teen idol as well. Cameron didn't last very long in Hollywood. I guess his fans loved him much better on GP.
