Amazon.com They're back, they're beautiful, and they mean business--but in a sweet way. Charlie's Angels: The Complete Third Season finds Kris Munroe (Cheryl Ladd), sister of departed Angel Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett), well ensconced in the Charles Townsend Investigation agency. Jill, however, isn't entirely absent from the scene: Fawcett turns up in at least three episodes, not quite ready to shake her old job despite the lure of car racing and a handsome beau (Stephen Collins). But enough about her: the current incarnation of Charlie's team kicks off the season with a two-part mystery set in Las Vegas. Dean Martin plays a maverick casino owner who believes he's being "gaslighted," i.e., made the target of psychological harassment by an unknown enemy. Trouble is, some of his employees and friends are getting hurt and even killed by this same assailant. The girls, including brainy Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson) and streetwise Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith), plus mirthful supervisor Bosley (David Doyle), go undercover to root out a plot to ruin Martin's character. (Sure, Dino romances one of them: Sabrina.) The rest of the season follows the usual Charlie's Angels formula of relying on the cast's appealing personalities and substantive, anti-bimbo characters, while also getting them (well, not Jackson so much) in various states of undress as quickly as possible. An accent on stories requiring the wearing of leotards and showgirl costumes certainly helps the cause, but there are plenty of non-exploitational episodes as well. Among the best programs is "Angel Come Home," in which Jill arrives at Charlie's by surprise after receiving a phony emergency cable in Europe from someone claiming to be Kris. Eager to investigate, Jill soon hooks up with an old friend (Horst Buchholz) developing a new car engine targeted by enemies. "Angels in Springtime" capitalizes on a creepy suggestion of lesbian incarcerators running an expensive spa for women. "Haunted Angels" is a spooky tale of a young man's demanding spirit being channeled, from beyond the grave, through a terrified woman. It could be real or it could be a scam; only the Angels can find out. "Counterfeit Angels" finds a trio of bank robbers claiming to be Kris, Kelly, and Sabrina; the girls fight for their innocence. Finally, a great episode from its era (1979), "Disco Angels," gets the ladies exactly where they belong: on a dance floor. --Tom Keogh

"The Last Good Year For Charlie's Angels" May 11, 2009 Terry Richard (Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
"Charlie's Angels" began its third season in the fall of 1978 while entrenched as one of ABC's biggest hits. The series continued to flourish, ending the year with a huge 18.2 Nielsen rating, almost as high as its first season. All regular angels are back, as this would mark the only season in which all current angels came back from the previous year with no recasts. Farrah Fawcett, obligated to return for three more shows, returns, and the angles are in top form solving crimes and arresting the bad guys. The third year is also the final good year of "Charlie's Angels" before it "jumped the shark", meaning the program lost all credibility and suffered from the loss of lead angel Kate Jackson, who quit this season after Aaron Spelling wouldn't give her time off to do the movie "Kramer vs. Kramer", as she was supposed to star in the role made famous by Meryl Streep. After wrapping up production on "Charlie's Angels" in the early spring of 1979 Kate told the producers she was done. In a press release Kate stated the show had been good to her and her good to it, but it was time to move on, but privately she confided in friends that if she had been able to do "Kramer" she would have stayed with the show forever. Losing Kate Jackson killed this show, not only because she was the best actress on it (she had received multiple Emmy nods for her performance of Sabrina), but also because once she left morale was low on the set. The series lasted two more seasons, albeit to poor ratings, and the show never recovered from losing such an important cast member.
This season features all 22 episodes, but like the second season two shows are the cut/syndicated episodes called "Angels in Vegas" and "Terror on Skis".
This boxset came out in 2006 which meant the studio has been extremely slow in releasing future boxsets. In the spring of 2009 it was announced by Sony that season four is finally going to be released in the late summer.

Charlie's Angels - Season 3
Well this is my second review of charlies angels I love the show
cant wait for season 4 and the others I will buy them all If you
love Charlies Angel's season 1, and 2 you'll all the seasons. Even
if they lost Farrah Fawcett the show was still good she was replaced
by Cheryl Ladd who is just as good if not better I find her to be less
of a stuck up I dont know Farrah seemed a bit of a stuck up or shall we
say she played like a dumb blonde but wasnt one it was too fake I think
Good actress but I dont know like Cheryl Ladd better
Hit & Miss - Still 5 Stars! December 31, 2008 Matt P. Swintek 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you are a fan of Charlie's Angels, this set is a must so just place it in your cart right now and proceed to checkout. I'm going to try to keep this review to the point and do my best to give you my honest opinion about what I noticed during the time I was watching Season three.
For me, Season three really had its ups and downs. When an episode was good, it was typically very good. When one was bad, I often wondered why they even took the time to shoot it. Long time Angel writer Edward J. Lakso wrote ten of the Season three episodes and it was quite obvious that he was getting a bit burned out. (Although, he did continue writing for the show in seasons four and five.)
About half way through the set, you can tell that Kate Jackson is losing interest in Charlie's Angels. When working with a good script, Kate is at her absolute best. When working with a bad one, you can tell that she is not happy. I think I once read that Kate was totally outraged by the script for "Marathon Angels" and I don't blame her. The entire episode was basically an excuse for filming young women with large breasts (and no bras) running a foot-race.
While Season three does contain a few pit-falls, many of the episodes are the best that ever came out of the entire series!
P.S. Good-bye Kate! We love you.
Excellent collection December 15, 2008 Dewey M. Jacks (Bluffton,In. USA) This collection is downright awesome. The original Angels at their best,...including that sweet loveable Kelly Garrett. Highly recommend this for any true Angel fan. Cheryl is just as awesome, and Kate is
great, too. Still have yet to finish watching this collection, but what I have seen so far it is great,...a MUST for all Angel fans. These collections I have will be watched over and over. I have Season Two,but have yet to start watching it(want to finish Season One first).
