 New DVD's Arrived Very Scratched from Factory/Seller September 11, 2009

Unfortunately, my supposedly new DVD's arrived very scratched from the factory and seller because they came loose from the spindle in the case and rattled around during transport. This is a typical problem that is true from a great many DVD manufacturers. Now, I will have to go to all the trouble of shipping them back to the seller and hopefully get new DVD's that were not scratched. One would hope that Christians - or at least those producing Christian titles - would address this very prevalent problem in a great many DVD's that are shipped.
The movie itself was well-done, if rather low-budget. But, it was nice to finally see, in its entirety the word-for-word Gospel of Matthew, including even Jesus' complete denunciation in Matthew 23 of the religiosity of the Pharisees, aka clergy, of his - and our - day. Indeed, in 2000 years, it seems we have often replaced the Jewish Pharisees with Christian Pharisees and instead of the first being last and children being seen as closest to the Kingdom of God, once again, the parisitic priesthood of clergy has placed itself first, in the NAME of God. Children, women, scapegoats, prophets and others on the fringes of society (and the "churches", "temples", "mosques", etc.) are still seen and treated as less than the highly "educated" "doctors" of divinity, philosophy, and other organized lunacy.
With our priestly "leaders" being blind to themselves and to the destruction towards which they are leading their followers, is it any wonder millions have rejected organized religion for individualized spirituality? Is it any wonder millions more atheists and agnostics who were wounded by organized religion have turned their backs on God? Indeed, however one might understand Him or Her, the Divine Spirit probably likes the honest atheist or wounded agnostic - and even the godfathers of organized crime - more than the professed clergy of organized religion.
The [...] crisis and financial corruption across many organized religions is just part of the problem. Deeper still is the lust for position, power, souls and money by clergy more interested in building their own kingdoms than God's. Indeed, regardless of whether it was 2000 years ago or now, it was (and is) the clergy, politicians, experts in the law, and elders who crucified Jesus and the Christ in each of us. So, maybe, we should take Jesus at his word in Matthew 23, stop calling the clergy, professors/teachers, and parents by their exalted titles, and put the Christ as well as children in charge.

These DVDs have been such a blessing to our famuily. It is a captivating way to let the Word of God soak in our lives. When we have it playing on our DVD during the day our kids will just stop what they're doing to watch and then I hear them talking about what they've learned for days afterwards. We play them over and over again. These videos have helped to bring the Word of God to life in our family.
