Product Description SYLVIA (1977) - Enter Sylvia, one of the more endearingly off-kilter efforts to emerge from the New York grindhouse scene and a film with such unique and unpredictable attributes that its status as a sex film seems to be the least conspicuous of its virtues. A whacking feature that sees itself as a cutting-edge psychodrama and exploitation movie with unsolicited intellectual and artistic aspirations, Sylvia manifests much of the best of the psychotronic spirit. In essence a hardcore redaction of Flora Schreiber s schizophrenia potboiler Sybil, Sylvia concerns the sexual exploits of a religiously repressed woman who finds erotic relief through a series of hot-blooded alter egos. Starring Marc Stevens, Sonny Landham, Helen Madigan and introducing JoAnna Bell as Sylvia DVD Contents: SYLVIA Feature Film COMMENTARY w/ Assistant Director/Production Mgr. William Lustig and Film Historian Michael Bowen BOOKLET featuring photos and historical liner notes After Hours Retro TRAILER VAULT

| Customer Reviews: ADULT Suspense February 6, 2010 Frederick Scott (Sierra Nevada) Good suspense film but put the kids to bed! The transfer from film to DVD is good. This film is like some of the "Deranged Female" movies of the eighties except with the addition of explicit sex scenes! Not a porn flick like the Stagg Film series but not as hard as Deep Throat either. Suspense, Adult.
Bizarre and fascinating Sybil clone November 21, 2008 Dm Otis (vancouver) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is one of those films that amaze you just be their mere existence. Exploits the schizo stereotype and pop phenomenon of the SYBIL book and movie. Lead actress really makes it, She's pretty out there. There are some edgy scenes for sure, and some funny bits. Captures well the free love 60's sensibility that had crept into more middle class lifestyles. And the image quality is top notch, really looks fantastic.
