Product Description Movie DVD
Amazon.com A weak, lazy comedy about an easygoing teacher (Mark Harmon, whose movie career never had the kind of trajectory that his TV work did) who is forced to teach--you guessed it--summer school. What's worse, he gets exactly the kind of kids you'd expect: the losers and slackers who are forced to make up the work they didn't complete during the year. He tries to duck work and let them fend for themselves. But in this mushy Carl Reiner film, the teacher offers some life lessons to his band of delinquents and--surprise, surprise--the kids impart a lesson or two to their teacher, as well. Harmon coasts through the film on his good looks, which are considerable. --Marshall Fine

Summer School September 30, 2009 Scott Bleadon (Arizona) I grew up with this movie, with Chainsaw and Dave. It makes me feel all fuzzy inside. Great product, really fast delivery.
A picture of Mark Harmon, the greatest actor that ever lived July 25, 2009 Sid the Elf (North Pole) Sometimes in life there is nothing better then an 80's comedy, especially if it's Summer School. It's one of those films you catch at 1:30 am and you have no choice but to fall asleep watching it. One issue we face with a lot of the 80's comedies is how well they hold up over the years. Let's take the Breakfast Club for that matter. We used to watch that movie a couple times a month minimum but burned it out to the point of no return. Trying to watch it now just can't work, despite that it's a classic flick. With Summer School it just never seems to get old and is still as funny as the first watch. Oh by the way the title is a Peter Griffin quote. We all know Don Swayze is the greatest actor that ever lived.
We're not going to kill you with a huge plot summary, but if you haven't seen it here's the deal. Mr. Freddy Shoop is a gym teacher who is headed to Hawaii for Summer vacation when he's forced to stick around to teach a bunch of degenerates. In usual 80's fashion he turns the kids around and makes them valuable members of society. Yeah it's a standard type 80's situation, but these flicks are pretty much all the same. We recommend Summer School to those who love the 80's flicks, and assure you it's one Sid has and would have loved in the old days.
Goofy Gibbs June 26, 2009 Megan Nelson If you love Mark Harmon, than this movie is fantastic! It's so fun to see him in a roll that is so different than Special Agent Gibbs from "NCIS"
The movie is a classic! Funny, and though it was made in the 80s, easily relatable to an audience of today!
Stay after for "Summer School" May 19, 2009 Neela N. Wickenkamp Mark Harmon (NCIS) when he was younger. Kirstie Alley. And if you were a fan of "Becker", Shawnee Smith (Linda). Not a great hit, but fun to watch on a cloudy day. Special effects scene is great. All in all, one of my son's favs.
Summer School February 7, 2009 T girl I love this movie. It is fun, entertaining and humours. It is fun to watch with everyone. It is a movie that makes you feel good and young again.
