excellant movie, great action and great story line between Ken Wahl and Cheryl Ladd. I've beeen waiting for this movie for a long time and it did not disappoint me.

This is, at least for me, one of the most touching war/love stories i have ever seen. I like both actors very much. I have great respect for all those who took part in that "hell" called Viet-Nam !! G.Vecellio

I agree with David Baldwin (Philadelphia,PA USA) that this movie is definitely not to be "sneezed at" and that it's a blend of a love story, combat and a medical drama film. The only thing I would have to correct him on is that it was released in 1984 not 1994 as I remember that it got bad reviews when released in the theatres by all the so-called critics. I didn't get to see it until it was released on VHS format and I just loved Ken Wahl in it and thought that he and Cheryl Ladd had great 'on screen' chemistry together. I had been looking for it in the video shops on DVD format and they didn't have it, so the internet was my best option to try and obtain a copy for myself. I was worried that (like many movies from our childhood) that I wouldn't like it now even though I just 'feel in love' with it back then ~ I was wrong and am glad I now have it in my collection of movies AND have already watched it THREE TIMES!
Plus I ordered this copy on the 2 October 2009 from Amazon.com and was advised I would receive it some time around 19 November 2009...well I was so wrapped when it arrived early on 22 October 2009...three weeks after the order and I only paid standard postage! THANK YOU Amazon.com ~ I will definitely be advising all my friends of your quick service and that the package arrived safely from your hands to mine!

I love this movie and am glad it's finally out on DVD. It's a dark romantic movie set in Vietnam...not my normal genre, but for some reason I love this flick! Go figure!
Is it the best Vietnam movie ever made? Not even close, but the chemistry between the leads works and the movie keeps you riveted till the kinda predictable ending. It's just a good romantic movie, and I highly recommend it!

In the Netherlands they didn't have this dvd, so when I saw it on amazon I was realy happy
