Product Description Chicken Little has a difficult time convincing the town people of Oakley Oaks that the sky is really falling due to an earlier claim that turned out to be a false alarm. No Track Information Available Media Type: DVD Artist: DISNEY Title: CHICKEN LITTLE Street Release Date: 02/06/2007 Domestic Genre: CHILDREN'S VIDEO
Amazon.com A classic fable gets fused with War of the Worlds in Disney's Chicken Little. In the small town of Oakey Oaks, young Chicken Little (voiced by Zach Braff, Garden State) struggles to live down the embarrassment of having once thought the sky was falling. But when he gets struck again by a hexagonal, sky-camouflaged, hi-tech doohickey, he and his friends Ugly Duckling (Joan Cusack, School of Rock), Runt of the Litter (Steve Zahn, Sahara), and Fish Out of Water discover that aliens are preparing to invade Earth--but since no one believed Chicken Little the first time, why would they believe him now? Though kids will enjoy the bright whizz-bang action sequences of Chicken Little, discerning parents will find the movie tedious. Technically, it has the computer animation quality of Pixar--but with none of their intelligence, heart, or simple storytelling skill. The basic idea of connecting the fable to aliens is amusing, but the script routinely bogs down in clumsy father-son issues that seem like material edited out of Finding Nemo. The jokes rarely have anything to do with the characters, but are mostly pop-culture references that are sadly out of date. The action sequences were obviously created with the inevitable video game in mind, for which the movie is little more than an advertisement. Chicken Little falls flat. --Bret Fetzer

Family movie for adults and children alike October 23, 2009 Amy S. Mcfarland (California) My son (3) thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It's fast-paced and has great music, and enough humor for parents that it kept me entertained as well. A few spots were even laugh-out-loud funny. A great addition to any kids' movie collection, and a very cute retelling of a classic tale.
Great movie! October 23, 2009 C. Burdette Our family enjoyed this movie. A new twist on an old story with lots of laughs!
Egg First September 21, 2009 Brian W. Glenn (Atlanta) This starts with great promise. It has a self-referential start with a narrator (Garry Marshall doing Peter Falk) talking about uncreative beginnings. Then we see the hero's vision of a huge ball rolling through the town destroying everything. It merges with the similar ball in the first Indiana Jones, literally coming through the screen and out the door. Then it is revealed as a vision. Then there follows notice that a movie is to be made of the stupid chicken. (We see it at the end.) Disney is desperate to cover the loss of its relationship with Pixar, which singehandedly saved the company. Dreamworks seems incapable of doing something with legs. But Disney is ever more straightjacketed with formula and moralizing. That's what defines them. So this movie is yet another disaster. But oh what a great opening. You know, opening sequences have become something of an obsession in Hollywood. Often, they are financed independently and designed and added after the main film is set. You can see that here: the tone and cleverness of the opening is in a much higher class than the tepid movie. Ted's Evaluation -- 1 of 3: You can find something better to do with this part of your life.
Worst Movie I've Ever Seen September 4, 2009 Cervantes Muse (I tower above you, where ever I am, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Yesterday I took a huge dump. Then I looked at it for 81 minutes. It was 1000 times better than this movie. My nephew was watching it and it was so bad he threw up. Aliens? Zach Braff? That terrible baseball scene where Little hits a homerun and those boners are scurrying around the outfield. What? Please, my 2 year old said, "Daddy, this movie blows. Why did you do this to me? Do you not love me?" I was like, "Dude, I'm sorry. Can you ever forgive me?"
I heard Mickey Mouse started drinking heavily after he watched this monstrosity and he hasn't been seen since. I'm going to eat chicken for every meal for the rest of my life just because this movie was that bad. Next time I see a dam chicken clucking around like he owns the joint I'ma boot em right up his ahhhhhhss.
Cute show, love the songs July 27, 2009 Maryjo (USA) My daughter loves this show and the songs are great too. I wasn't expecting the alien invasion when I first watched it, but its still a fun show. Well built characters.
