I bought this fish tape based on the manufacturer's reputation and my dire need for such a tool (I am adding outlets and data ports in an older house). This baby got the job done for me, but my opinion is that the small diameter of this reel causes the tape to have even more "memory" when you extend it than a larger reel would. This means it likes to curve in every direction except where you want it to go which can be quite maddening. As a trade off for that annoyance, this thing is rugged, compact and easy to keep in a tool box, and as I said before it gets the job done and at an affordable price.
