50' Optical Cable February 8, 2008 Steve L. (CA) The optical cable arrived in a couple of days. I was a little nervous because it was 50 ft long but I plugged it in and it works great. Good price good cable, five stars.
Fully working as advertised January 20, 2008 Martin Logan Speaker Owner For $20, this cable is a steal. I ran the cable from a DirecTV receiver in my living room to an Onkyo receiver in my bedroom. Music from the XM radio channels sound as good as in the living room. The cable looks and feels sturdy. Running a 50' cable through the house is not elegant, but it's the only cheap reliable solution for now. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Excellant quality & value long optical cable October 31, 2007 DVDJedi I purchased this cable for less than $20 and am very pleased with the quality construction. For the length and rugged 'jacket' this cable has performed perfectly for routing the audio of my MCE home theater PC in the living room to my 5.1 receiver in the den room. My setup allows my MCE system to display on two different televisions in 2 different rooms. There's about 45' of distance between both rooms. This cable was very easy to maneuver from the PC, through the living room floor, into the basement and then up into wall that holds the LCD HDTV in the den (and then out to the the 5.1 receiver in that room). I have the optical output split on my PC to also 'drive' a 5.1 receiver in the living room. Unfortunately the splitter reduces the brightness of the optical light, so the den receiver cannot 'lock on' to the audio stream. I am currently rectifying this with a TOSLINK amplifier to go in front of the splitter. The brightness reduction is from no fault of this cable, but rather from the splitter. If I plug the cable in directly to the PC, the den 5.1 receiver produces audio just fine. Overall this is an excellent value with gold-plated tips (which is really unnecessary since we're only dealing with light), but looks and performs great nonetheless.
