This product works as advertised...it comes on when the power goes off, makes a handy flashlight. So far so good.

Purchased eight of them for use in one of our 12,000 sq foot warehouses, near a test cell that caused voltage spikes and black outs.
The Panasonic SQT555W601 Automatic Power-Failure Light product works as described, much better than flashlights we were using before. Best price of all web search's. Has two settings for power out, light we always use the lower setting as it has twice the run time. Have had them in use for 14 months and no complaints.

After considerable searching and research, I luckily happened upon the Panasonic Automatic Power-Failure Light. Although we have been fortunate enough not to have actually needed the light for a power outage yet, I have tested it and believe it will do a great job. I specifically wanted one that comes on when the power goes off and has a sufficient battery life to stay on for a reasonable length of time so I wasn't fumbling around in the dark hunting storm supplies. I particularly like that it stands on its own but is also portable. Also glad it uses a standard bulb. It would have been nice if they had included round headed wall mounting screws and a template to locate the holes. I'm very pleased with the light and plan to order another for the other end of my house and one for my elderly mother.

Throws a decent amount of light and goes on as soon as power goes out. BUT - where do you put it. This would be a 5 star purchase if it came with a wall bracket. You need a shelf - that is about the only place you can put it and the shelf must be in close proximity to a power outlet.
