A sleek, compact design makes this pitcher efficient and portable. |
Purified water is a powerful way to keep your whole body revitalized and uplifted. | Compact, Efficient, and Portable Thanks to its slim, compact design, the Brita Slim Pitcher can be stored in narrow spaces like refrigerator doors, avoiding the hassle of sacrificing valuable shelf space. Despite its compact size, the pitcher holds up 40 fluid ounces of water, the equivalent of five 8-ounce glasses. The sleek design makes for effortless transport, refilling, and pouring. Reduces Impurities and Cuts Down on Chlorine Taste The pitcher's included Ion Exchange Resin filter acts as a magnet for impurities that are often found in tap water, such as lead, copper, mercury, cadmium, and zinc. The filter removes these impurities, reducing their potentially harmful effects. The filtering process also reduces that taste and odor of chlorine, thanks to special sponge-like filtration system. The end result is clean, better tasting water that is healthier for everyone. This is especially good news for children and pregnant or nursing women who are more susceptible to potential harm from lead and other impurities. Filters should be changed every 40 gallons or two months and are not intended for use with microbiologically unsafe water. All Brita Pitchers are universally compatible with Brita Pitcher Replacement Filters. Improves Your Health and Invigorates Your Senses Water is a vital resource in energizing your mind and body, and using a Brita Pitcher ensures that the water you're drinking is in top quality. It also acts as a powerful aid in digestion, metabolism, and detoxification. Brita recognizes the importance of water to human wellbeing and takes special care to optimize the healthfulness of your drinking water, so you can keep fit and energized. A Simple Way to Support the Environment It's estimated that one Brita pitcher filter can substitute for the use of 300 water bottles, many of which end up in landfills. By using Brita filters, which are now recyclable through a Brita and Preserve filter recycling program, you lower your impact on the environment while benefiting your own health and possibly your wallet, too. Plus, your support of the Brita Products Company goes toward helping environmental efforts like the Brita Climate Ride, a five-day bike ride whose participants raise money for climate change awareness. About The Brita Products Company The Brita Products Company is a leader in the production of freestanding water-filtration systems designed to improve the quality of drinking water by reducing its impurities. Glad I tried it October 23, 2009 T. Kumpf (Ashburn, VA USA) After reading some of the reviews compaining about loose-fitting tops, spillage, and charcoal dust, I was a bit apprehensive about placing my order.
I'm very glad I decided to order one. I've had this several weeks now and it is the perfect water container/filter for my use. I use it in my office instead of hauling cases of plastic bottles.
I've not experienced any of the problems noted.
Everything was great October 11, 2009 Youssouf Camara (Philadelphia, PA) Got the filter exactly when i expected to get it. It was in great shape - for a great price. Service was good. I'd recommend (if asked) everyone to get a filter through this method.
Perfect for the dorm/office; save your money & the environment! September 28, 2009 S. C. Kwak I've had the pitcher for about a month now, and no complaints so far. In fact, I consider the purchase well worth it.
I used to drink bottled water, because I don't find the taste of tap water particularly appealing. Buying a Brita pitcher, however, has several advantages:
1. Saves money. I drink about 2 gallons of water per week at home (roughly speaking, and not counting my liquid intake in other forms & outside the house). If you rely on bottled water all the time, the money begins to add up quickly. The pitcher begins to pay for itself after about a month. The manual recommends that the filter be replaced every 2 months or 40 gallons - which is because, I am assuming, the average family goes through 40 gallons in about 2 months. If you're a single student like me, a filter will see you through for 4-5 months.
2. Saves time. It's a real hassle when you run out of bottled water, the nearest grocery store is 3 blocks away and it's 3 a.m. Yes, you do have to wait a good minute or two for the water to filter down but I'm sure most people have the patience to deal with that. Or you can just have it filled up to be used whenever.
3. Helps save the environment. You ever wonder where all those plastic bottles come from and where they go after you throw 'em away? Also, bottling water for commercial purposes as the beverage companies do can have detrimental ecological impacts on the source.
As for the black carbon bits that some people claim to find in their water, I haven't had any problems with this. There are some carbon chips floating loose in mine, but only in the top compartment. There is one minor design slip, that the whole top compartment can slide off the pitcher when I'm trying to open the lid sometimes, but at under $15 I'm willing to overlook such a flaw. Also, the water tastes good.
Highly recommended, especially for college students who need to keep themselves hydrated.
Good little pitcher September 22, 2009 Takepon (SE US) I got this pitcher the other day, and so far I like it. It holds enough water to fill my coffee maker, and it's not too big. It fits just fine in my fridge. It also fills up really fast thanks to being so small, which is awesome.
My only gripe is that the top is hard to pull off when you need to fill it up. It causes the whole inside unit to come out. I find that if you dig your fingernails into it rather than trying to lift it with your fingertips helps. It's only a small gripe.
I recommend this to anyone who lives alone or with just one other person or has a small fridge.
Bonus: Tasty water.
Brita Slim pitcher September 14, 2009 wdanj (Decatur, AL USA) This product works as advertised. The only problem I have is, pouring, you have to be careful that the plastic filter holder does not disengage from the pitcher.
