First, don't trust the Amazon "list price" which as of my typing this reads "$39.79." This item sells at Home Depot for $29.99 with no discount.
I am 0 for 2 with Lutron dimmers. They cost a ton, and both that I have owned, including this one, have lasted less than five years. Dimmers DO go bad frequently. But when you are $30 into it for a light switch, it gets irritating.
