The product description says to not use it with a motor but it works fine running two 150 watt box fans. It is nice to be able to set the exact speed that you want on both fans at the same time. The three speeds the fans have lack the precision needed. You can set them at a super low speed so that they are very quiet but you still get some air movement.

My daughter gave me one a few Christmas ago, a different brand and when it stopped working I really missed it. I went on line and found this one at Amazon and so far I love it. I only gave 4 stars because I haven't had it a year yet and also its hard to get it at the lowest dimmer without it going out, you have to really work with it.

I use this as a speed regulator for a Babe Electric spinning wheel. Since the Babe's are very low end machines, and controlling precise speed with a sewing machine foot control is impossible, this is the perfect low-cost solution. Cruise control! This product does what it's supposed to do, nothing more.

This is the best solution for my mother-in-law, whose arthritis was making it very painful for her to twist those little three-way lamp-knobs anymore. We had thought of getting a touch-lamp for her, but it seemed a shame since the old one works perfectly well. With this little dimmer, the button is very easy for her to slide, even though her hands have a hard time gripping things.
