Amazon.com Product Description
Worried that you won't be able to hear the doorbell when you're in the garden, garage, or basement? With Heath Zenith's wireless doorbell system, you can simply pick up the chime and take it with you (it plugs in to a standard polarized socket). To install, all you need to do is mount the doorbell and plug in the chime-no electrical installation is needed.

The volume of the chime is adjustable, and you can select one of three different chimes. You can also change the code settings (which allow the doorbell to communicate with the chime) to make sure your neighbor's wireless systems won't set of your chime. Note that the battery for the doorbell is included, along with all the mounting hardware you'll need.--Josh Dettweiler

5 out of 5 stars Excellent wireless doorbell!   November 22, 2008
Randee (Babylon Village, NY)
This wireless doorbell is nice and loud. It is easy to hear it all around the house. I am hearing impaired and I have no difficulty hearing it no matter what room I am in, even in the basement. A good thing about this wireless doorbell is that you can plug in the central unit. Most other wireless doorbells, that use batteries (not electric) have to run by four or five batteries. The doorbell offers a choice of three different ring styles. If you have this model doorbell at more than one door, you can make the doorbells all ring differently. (You can then tell at which door someone is ringing the bell). I have gone through quite a few wireless doorbells. This one is sturdy and reliable. The other ones I have owned lasted two or three months, at best. This is an excellent choice and good value if you want a wireless doorbell.

5 out of 5 stars happy with our doorbell   October 30, 2008

To avoid electrical work in an older home, a wireless doorbell is the way to go. I've been happy with this product since day one. Installation was simple, it's not an eye sore, and it's nice to have the chime plugged into the wall to minimize battery replacement. Our chime is about 40 feet from the button, and it transmits wonderfully through two walls. I am very pleased with this product.

5 out of 5 stars Reliable and not annoying.   October 22, 2008

I bought this doorbell not to use as a traditional doorbell but to use in the house. After yelling to my daughter repeatedly and running up and down the stairs, I felt like this would be a reasonable solution to get her attention.

We live in a condo, so there is the interference from other families to deal with, and we had no problems. Also, it works from downstairs in the front of the house to upstairs in the back of the house with doors closed and other electronics running. No trouble there, either.

Loud enough to be heard over music or to wake up a sleepy teen, she no longer misses her phone calls and I no longer have to go to great lengths or interrupt what I am doing to get her attention! We are pleased, it worked out well for us.

I am very disappointed. The product works only about 50% of the time; it is most unreliable (not good for a door bell). The Range is weak and not as advertised. I would recommend not buying this product

I am the doorbell man, an expert, so to speak. Over the past few years, at my drivethru window, I have gone through a number of wireless doorbells. The reason for this is quite varied. The first time, the wired doorbell was stolen. The second time, the doorbell was sideswiped by someone in the drivethru. The third time, the wireless transmitter shorted out in the rain. The fourth time, I got a stupid 'bird' doorbell, which I didn't know chirped 'london bridge' and other classic tunes which drove us all bonkers. The fifth and last few times, the magnetic backing we put on the transmitter (so that we can retrieve it and keep it from being stolen) was not strong enough to keep people from knocking if off, and subsequently driving over it. The last 2 doorbells did not transmit through our cinder block and brick walls the great distance of say, 6 feet. Also, the last 2 did not have "easy pressibility": in other words, some light presses did not transmit a ring.

Who would have thought doorbellology was such a complex and thought provoking subject?

Anyway, this bell has "easy pressibility," transmits well and is quite loud. And it's white, which goes with everything. Everything you would want in a door chime.

And BTW, we found a way to keep the transmitter from sliding off: we used a giant binder clip we had been saving for some unknown purpose...but that's neither here nor there.

If this was a comparison review, this particular model would win compared to everything I have used. Inexpensive. Loud. Accurate. Highly recommended.
