Does not turn back on November 6, 2007 Mr M in Honolulu (Hawaii) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Its a 5 if you are using it for home use. Its a 2 if you've got unattended devices plugged into it. I would give this a 5 if it were not for the fact that if the battery dies after a prolong outage, then electricity is restored, the ups will NOT turn on. So if you have servers plugged in this UPS that run 24x7, prepare to jump in the car, head to the office to push the ups on button. This is really a thumbs down for me. When I called support, we all had a good laugh as to why the ups was designed this way.
Nice features... quality, wait and see November 5, 2007 Sharon R. Peugh (Utah) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have two of these. Both are less than 2 months old. I purchased Belkin for their SUPERB software suite. These are used on a remote cabin which is unattended most of the time. I need to keep a laptop up and running for weather station and video monitoring. The software has alert features that allow me to get an e-mail or a page as soon as power is interrupted, restored or any other problems arise such as it failing a self test cycle. It is fully configurable. One of the two units failed within about 10 days of going into service. Belkin made me pay for the return shipping on it at nearly $20, that really increased the cost of the device for me. So... A+ for features. B for customer service. Grade pending for long term reliability!
monster power November 10, 2006 M. Roberts 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have enjoyed this for a few months now. Purchased because I have many power failures. Most which are quick on and offs. Even with a 22in monitor this provides 15 minutes of back-up. Monitoring Software is easy install (but is not required to use device) I hope to buy a few more for my other electronics.
must be Belkin! have had no luck with other brands April 30, 2005 Black Cat de La Bear (those dark halls) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
although this device has been stripped of its discription since it was first put on this site, it is the Belkin 1200 VA four battery two non UPS power supply for PCs. The only thing I DON"T like about it is the tiny plug outlets not allowing for transformer adapters and the cord gets in the way of the non battery devices plugins. I have serveral periferials but they have to be plugged into a separate unit because of this. The unit is reliable as far as performance, the battery still goes strong after five or more minutes and I can safely shut the PC down. I am using a high end machine too. A big cathode 19" monitor and an ATI Radeon 9800 XT video card so I have a lot of power requirements. The bulldog software is a separate download and I have little use for it except for battery discharge periodically, the software does exceptionally well with this using "deep test" and the bat goes back to 100% after a night's recharge... Usually its just 80% but can get worse in the long run without periodic discharge/recharge maintainence. My unit is at least two years old and my other(used on another machine) is FiVE years old and still going strong. I have not replaced the battery in either although my old one had a replacement program. Belkin is the only way to go with UPS back ups!
