I have previously owned a device similar to this but water got into it because the instuctions weren't properly followed. I found that this is a very worthwhile item to own. We use it at Halloween, Christmas, Camping and all summer to turn our water fountain on and off. If used properly it should last a long time. After having one I will not be without it. In fact I purchased two.

Works great for the Christmas lights. I don't have to run around plugging the lights in, just press the button.
