Good Blower November 10, 2009 Andrew Draut It came with rubber 'feet' for mounting up against the back wall of the fireplace to reduce vibration and it works quite well. The lowest setting on the fan is enough to circulate the air out away from my mantle, which is all I wanted. Also, it's not too loud on the lowest setting. It's about the same noise level as a typical desktop or floor fan. Hardest part of installing it was getting it back into the fireplace, but that was mainly due to how the wiring and gas were installed. An hour of my time is worth a few years of a now great heating fireplace.
Noisy Fan December 22, 2008 W. Butterfield This fan is noisy I would recommend finding a different fan for your fireplace. Also keep in mind when installing this fan that the outlet under the fireplace may not be hooked up. It will require additional work.
This fan is NOISY March 8, 2007 homeBod-D (Upstate, NY) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Installed per instructions, but fan has a loud hum at all speeds except OFF. Not an air movement sound, a motor hum sound. All connections are tight. Don't know if this is a product problem or just amplification of normal noise. After all, the fireplace is 100% sheet metal and adding a fan turns it into a giant speaker.
E-mailed manufacturer-they offered to replace fan. It was a difficult installation and I don't look forward to removing-mailing-waiting-reinstalling just to find out the noise is normal.
Does move air even at low-medium speeds to warm the room more efficiently than the fireplace did with no fan.
fireplace blower February 24, 2007 J. Meyer (ohio) a necessary addition to make your fireplace more efficient. The blower kicks on automatically and instantly heats the living area. It is quieter than other blowers I have heard. I use it all the time to keep cozy warm. I seldom used the fireplace before adding the blower as it did not warm the room well. I wouldn't be without it. great price and great item.

This fireplace blower was wonderful and was delivered even before the time we were told. Nothing negative to report so far.
