A good night light November 13, 2009

I needed a safety night light to illuminate a step-down on the side of a hallway into the living room. This unit uses very little power and is very bright. Description says 15 Amps, but this is incorrect. The light is LED and uses only milliamps of current. The listed 15A applies to a similar Pass & Seymour product that features a combination LED light and 15A receptacle.
This product may be too bright for some applications. I would not use it a bedroom as a night light. But if you need a fairly bright light, this one is perfect.
This product has a built-in photo sensor to turn off the light during the day. I have found that the light stays on almost all the time and only turns off when direct sunlight hits the sensor. Unfortunately there is no sensitivity control, but since the light takes so little power I don't mind that it stays on most of the time.
