PX-211 does not exist, it's either PX-211D or PX-211V, They sent PX-211D which is WRONG October 30, 2009 Barry Graham (Washington, DC Metro) The unit was described as the PX-211. I should have known there would be issues by the fact that the title of this product has a typo (Wirless instead of Wireless).
When it arrived, there was no indication on the box of what was inside. I found that the base and extension both said "DATA ONLY" even though the manual mentioned that there is a "VOICE/DATA" version. Nowhere in the description of this product did it tell you to be sure to order the proper version - that's probably because I bet Amazon doesn't sell the VOICE/DATA version, no wonder it's so cheap. The version they sent was the PX-211D and in fact there is no such thing as the PX-211 - it's either PX-211D or what I wanted, and expected, PX-211V.
I thought I'd give it a try anyway, and sure enough, the voice quality was too low to use.
Now I see from other reviews that others have had the same issue. You would think that after lots of returns and complaints, Amazon would update the description to stop others from making the same mistake. I have requested a replacement item, telling them the issue. If they send another PX-211D I am going to ask for a refund and I'll wire it myself using good old fashioned, reliable cable, since the time wasted in trying this out and returning it twice will be almost as long as it would have taken to to the cabling required in my home.
Works best October 23, 2009 Santhosh Ramankutty (Los Angeles, USA) I bought this product to connect to my Disk network DVR, it works perfect for the purpose.
Can't recommend this product October 17, 2009 No Ax To Grind (USA) The number of positive reviews for this product surprises me.
First, the pictures of the wireless jack: They don't show you that the underside is where you plug it into your wall socket. The problem is that the plug is so huge that it may cover the entire wall socket. If you have two sockets, and depending on how those sockets are arranged, you may lose access to the second one.
So, "I'll connect it to a surge protector or socket multiplier of some kind," you say. The manual tells you not to do that. I don't know why, but a surge protector probably interferes with the AC signal this device sends on your house wiring. Just a guess.
Then, the manual doesn't tell you if Caller ID signals are sent from the phone company jack to the jack you extended with this device. You can find out empirically...but I never got that far. My unit failed after about an hour. I returned it and got a refund...but it was a bad omen. I won't get another one.
Used for Satellite TV October 13, 2009 Chris Trujillo Works for hooking up my satellite box to a phone jack. Didn't have any problems
Great concept, Just not good enough September 24, 2009 Shoe Queen I bought this for my daughter's room because she didnt' have a phone jack and I thought it clevor to have a wireless one since kids change their rooms around all the time. We were pretty excited about the concept, however, it doesn't work well at all. It's a bunch of static. Can hear the other person, but definitely something wrong with the Jack. I wouldn't recommend it nor spend that much on it. We didn't return it because what a hassle to return and pay for shipping again and my daughter was just excited to have the phone working.
