 Plug adapter works perfectly November 4, 2009

I bought a cell phone in the UK in order to make cheap calls back to the US. It came, of course, with the UK plug. This plug allows me to charge the phone here in the US prior to travel back to the UK. This works because the cell phone charger automatically senses whether the outlet voltage is 110V (US) or 220V (UK). An important note here... if you are looking for something to actually convert the voltage, this is NOT what you need.

I was trying to figure out if this converter can help me to use my Chinese appliance in US. But I could not figure it out either from the description or the image.

For work, I change countries every couple of years, and I run into a lot of plug problems, even moreso than I run into voltage problems (after all, there are really only 2 voltage options, but the plug varieties--yikes). I need to connect my British DVD player, my French TV, and my Burundian fan into my Peruvian wall, but a frequent problem with universal adapters is a looseness in the universal receiving side, such that ungrounded plugs fall out of them or otherwise are loose and may lose connection. This adapter doesn't have that problem, though, and I'm very glad to have taken the chance on them. The receiving side has a firm grip on the appliance plug. Highly recommended!
