I Wish It Was A Little Quieter November 24, 2009 Scott T. Spence (Kennewick, WA U.S.A.) Like most people, I spent a number of hours studying portable generators before purchasing the Honeywell. It arrived in perfect shape and I had it running within 10 minutes. It operates as advertised and has all of the safety feature one could want.
When I ordered the generator I signed up for Amazon Prime and saved a pocket full of money on shipping - it came to my home for only $3.99 using overnight shipping! Without Amazon Prime it would have cost about $70.00 just in shipping.
I use this generator when camping with my RV. While it won't run the air conditioner on my RV, it powers everything else and recharges the batteries at the same time. I knew before purchasing the generator that it was louder than the equivalent Honda generator. It wasn't until camping this fall I found out how loud. I was parked near a family camping in their RV with a Honda generator running. While theirs was running, the father came over and asked me if I wouldn't mind shutting my generator off for an hour or so while they got ready to go on a hike. My generator was disrupting their breakfast in their RV.
You decide - significantly quieter (Honda) or save a few hundred dollars (Honeywell). In my case, I am happy with the Honeywell generator and the money I saved. I just need to be somewhat careful when using it near other campers.
lukewarm November 21, 2009 William R. White HARDLY A TOP OF THE LINE GENERATOR. IT'S JUST "OK", BARELY ADEQUATE. BASICLY, IT'S JUST ANOTHER CHINESE MADE PIECE OF CRAP. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. BUT IT WORKS FOR WHAT I BOUGHT IT FOR. I'LL BE SURPRISED IF IT LASTS MORE THAN A YEAR OR TWO.
very nice generator November 21, 2009 J. Norman (pa) This came via UPS and the package was still intact. Upon removal I found the primer bulb loose in the box. However based upon prior reviews I found out it was an easy fix to screw it back on. The generator seems to be put together very well. I'm anxious to start it in the spring to see how it performs. Great price on Amazon.
Great for Tailgating, Good value, easy to use October 27, 2009 Matt (New Jersey) Worked great right out of the box. Brought it straight to Giants stadium tail gate, put in fuel, oil, primed it 30 times (as instructed), started within 5 pulls. Very quiet in power save mode, more than ample to power 32" flat screen. Was the quietest generator on the lot. May be overkill for tailgating, but great value and again, very quiet for a tailgate.
Shop around October 24, 2009 Quentin W. Wilkerson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this in July 09 and only used three times. Every time I would have to prime at least 50 times and pull to start probably 20 times. I'm not at all impressed with this product. It is also very loud. I'm comparing this to my 7500 watt generator that I use. It is not much quieter than that.
Put it this way. I was wanting something smaller and quieter so that the wife could carry and start it since I'm gone in the evenings. A WOMAN WILL HAVE A TOUGH TIME STARTING....GUARANTEED! My wife probably couldn't start it.
