Product Description Belkin Conserve is an 8-outlet surge protector that makes it simple to eliminate wasteful standby power to your electronic devices, helping you reduce energy consumption, save money, and lower your overall impact on the environment.Conserve's wireless remote control keeps you from having to reach below desks, behind home theater equipment or around furniture to easily access inconvenient places where surge protectors typically sit. With this handy remote control, you can completely shut off the power to devices that consume standby power, such as TVs or computer monitors, when you are done using them. Two "always-on" outlets allow you to leave devices that typically need to stay on, such as set-top boxes or modems.

Sleek and functional November 18, 2009 T. Sonn (Palm Coast, Fl) More than enough for my needs and the remote for switching off outlets is pretty handy. Nice look and has been working great so far.
Great Product November 11, 2009 Chris Myers (El Paso, TX) This Powerstrip is perfect. Absolutely NO buyers remorese here, the rf reange is good-about 12' away-in my bedroom and doesn't interfere with any other rf devices. The switch is perfect and easily used by my wife. I will buy more of these in the future for other rooms/uses: the transmitter and receiver have switches for using multiple units within the same area and not interfering with eachother.
"Interesting" Customer Service Experience November 10, 2009 GKP The product seemed like the perfect solution and probably is, although my experience with customer service was enough to turn me off. My unit arrived from Amazon defective. The remote control would not operate the power strip. (Yes, both the remote control and the power strip were set to the same frequency.) Stuff happens, right? No big deal. I called customer service at Belkin and the rep suggested I buy a new battery for the remote. I pointed out that according to the instructions when the green LED glows (and it did) the remote is powered and operational. Still, he persisted that the battery might be too low to operate the unit. I was skeptical but agreed. So, I plunked down $4 for the A23 12v specialty battery that powers the remote. The unit still did not work. The next step, according to Belkin customer service, was for ME to send in the remote AT MY COST so they could replace it. Hmmm... I pointed out that this was a brand new unit out the box that was nonfunctional. That bounced right off of him. He did offer to send me the new remote first but said that I would be required to send in the defective one AT MY COST within 20 days. Sorry Belkin. No sale. I returned the unit to Amazon. This is my second non-functioning Belkin purchase. FYI.
Energy Saving Surge Strip October 29, 2009 Lee Dziuk (Elk River, MN USA) This product is great. You don't have to reach down on the floor to turn off everything. Or you don't have to have all the cords sitting behind your computer so that you can reach the switch. This puts everything out of the way and you just have a handy remote switch that you can put anywhere without a mess of wires in view.
Electrical + social engineering October 27, 2009 Cautious shopper (Maryland) The mount-anywhere wireless switch is nice--not elegant looking, but big and functional. While I'm not sure how long it will take to recover the purchase price through eliminated leaking current (quite a long time, I suspect, as my TV is new and uses very little standby current), the Belkin Surge Strip actually saves electricity in a social engineering sort of way. I now find that I don't power my devices into standby mode unless I know that I am going to be using them for a period of time (e.g., to watch a movie or sporting event). So, I'm less inclined to turn the TV on for a few minutes when I happen to be in the kitchen only briefly. Generally, I only turn the surge-protected devices on in the evening and when I know that I'll be using them for a while. Otherwise, I just leave the switch in the OFF state. It's more like TVs, as entertainment devices, were intended to be used, it seems.
