I bought these for hooking to my satellite receiver where there wasn't a phone jack. Didn't affect the DSl and I was able to order pay per view with the remote. Works great for the satellite.

This item is not for a telephone.
You can use it for a computer or a fax machine; but, you will never hear any conversation using it with your phone unless you want to hear a lot of loud static and distortion.
Beware.

Please be aware the web site indicates this item can extend a telephone connection. However, it is a "data only" extension and is not compatible as a telephone extension. Amazon folks were more than friendly in providing a refund, but the web information needs to be corrected and highlighted this is only for data and not voice extension.
