Amazon.com Product Description The high-performance HDTVa amplified indoor HDTV antenna from Terk Technologies is designed to capture both UHF and VHF signals (channels 2 to 69) while extending the reception range for all local HDTV broadcasts. The HDTVa uses an ultra-low-noise, high-gain amplifier with Terk's exclusive Dual-Drive Amplifier technology for clear reception of both distant and close HDTV and DTV stations. As suitable for those living in city apartments as for those in suburban homes, the compact HDTVa lets viewers experience HDTV broadcasts in full resolution. Designed for total reception versatility, the HDTVa's high-gain antenna array can be oriented either horizontally or vertically within its mounting base to achieve optimum capture of off-air broadcasts. Set the amplifier to high-gain mode to compensate for signals that are too weak or might otherwise be bypassed for a stronger signals nearby. Simplifying your installation, the HDTVa uses Terk's Power Injector to derive power via its coaxial connecting cable. The result? One cable is all you have to connect, making it easy to install the HDTVa atop or near your television. The antenna is engineered to receive all local HDTV channels, with an operating bandwidth covering both the UHF (channels 2 to 13) and VHF (channels 14 to 69) frequency ranges. Its highly directional log periodic UHF and precision VHF elements are designed to receive HDTV broadcasts with maximum signal strength while rejecting all or most interference. The HDTVa is as exceptional in appearance as it is in performance: its curved, tapering, polished-aluminum antenna elements are mounted in a slim base with a contoured front that visually complements the curve of the antenna elements. What's in the Box Antenna with integrated 75-ohm cable, instruction manual, and warranty information.

Great HDTV antenna for use with digital tv converter boxes... January 9, 2009 R. Bitonio (SF Bay Area) I purchased two Terk HDTVa antennas for my parents' home, and it worked considerably well on both floors. Both the walls and floors are concrete, and the roof is made up of tiles. So I expected some resistance from building materials. I was amazed on how well they worked (More to say later...) I had tried the old rabbit antennas (all that we had in the house) to the digital tv converter boxes, and reception on either locations was none to some digital channels being received. Using the Terks (with amplification on) improved reception to all channels being received. On the 2nd floor, the antenna worked well out of the box. Assembly was simple and fast, and the amplifier boosted signals, that were very weak with the rabbit ears. All channels were being received. As for the 1st floor, the antenna needed to be near the window to receive all the signals. So I had used an extension cable there. Otherwise, I need to do some adjustment of the VHF dipoles on the Terk. (Oh, this antenna is directional, as I have read from others that it is non-directional.) Even though the transmitters are less than 6 miles away, rabbit ears did not help with the converter boxes. After reading the reviews here, I decided to spend a bit more, and my parents are happy.
Great Antenna January 8, 2009 Todd Chapman I bought the Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified to view HD channels. I have doubled the channels that I can view now. I have access to channels that I could not view before. This is a great antenna to buy for someone looking to enhance their current TV watching experience.
It does the job! January 8, 2009 John I. Charlesworth I live about 45-50 miles from the TV transmitters, with no hills in the way. This antenna pulls in all channels strongly. I am very satisfied with it, though I wish it took up a bit less space.
Not the best January 8, 2009 Mr. Scott Perez (cal) Supposedly this was supposed to be the best antenna on the market for HDTV, but i could only get one channel. I purshased the dish looking antenna from radioshack and it picked up everything. I guess its like any antenna as they all work different per your area. The construction of this antenna is first class, I do have to say.
Disappointing January 7, 2009 G. Burk (central Illinois) I was encouraged by all the good reviews, however, it turned out to be no better than the old 4 fin style antennae. Several stations have weak signals and kept freezing up or going out altogether. So I hooked up the terk and... NO SIGNAL said the screen. I hooked up the old one and got the station to come in. The amplifier was plugged in and it did boost the signal as I tested it on the stronger stations. But in the end the old one did just as good and even better on some stations. I guess a big one on the roof is needed or maybe I can talk my mom and sister to finally get a dish so I can have something to watch when I go visit!!
