Works Great as Advertised! December 27, 2008 R. Boss (Orange County, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can monitor and control the camera's from anywhere in the world using the internet, as well as monitor and control the camera's on my tv. The keyword here is MONITOR. These Panasonic camera's are basically webcams, and should NEVER be compared to a professional grade CCTV security camera system. Even their own website refers to them as "pet cams". I previously purchased a single BL-C30A camera that worked so well that I needed more for other areas of the house. The BL-MS103-PK ($500 less than the MS103-A version) fit the bill, plus I could connect and control each camera from my TV. The BL-MS103-PK comes with 3 BLC30A cameras, and a BL-WV10A monitoring unit (the part that connects to the tv). Pros: Panasonic provided DDNS service ([...] which allows for internet viewing from anywhere in the world (apparently you can can also view from your pda and/or cell phone too, but I haven't tried). You can even Pan and Tilt the camera (and digital zoom) over the internet for versatility. Cons: Cumbersome setup, but not much more complicated than setting up any other wireless peripheral. I used software version 1.23, but I saw they have 1.30 on the Panasonic website. I don`t know if that would have made it easier. I'd rate the difficulty of setting up the camera's as a 7 (10 being most difficult) for the first camera, and 1 for all camera's after it. Generally I don't agree with the other 3 reviews on the BL-MS103-A. Trying to use a webcam as a security system is just foolish. Unable to view 3 cams on one page? I can view all 4 of my cams on one page, and if I had 12 cams, I could watch all 12 at once! To get a better idea of the review ratings, look at the reviews for the BL-C30A camera. This is the real meat of this kit.
Pain in the neck to set up and doesn't work outdoors. No audio. December 22, 2008 William Airy (Denver, CO USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried this product with high hopes. Needless to say, I ended up hiring a company to come out and install a professional system for four times the cost. This system arrived in a plain brown box and with an instruction manual that was obviously used. I was dissapointed to receive a used/returned/refurbished product when I was told it was new. The video is of low quality with a very slow framerate. It was not clear at all. I love the wireless funtionality, pan/tilt/zoom, and overall design. The software was unnecessarily difficult to set up. I spent several hours just trying to figure it out. I did call their customer service and had a more than enjoyable experience in that regard. They were highly knowledgable about the product and happy to help. They did tell me it was okay to mount these units outdoors, eventhough everything in the manual said otherwise. Save yourself the time and effort, hire a security company to do the work.

internet capable security cameras June 14, 2008 Philippe Jean Jorat (Palo Alto) 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Extremely difficult to set up. Particularly for internet access. I still haven't been able to view all three cameras on one page. Plus I received a Costco circular with another manufactures device that has nine cameras including some that worked outdoors (Sony cameras) for not much more money and brand new as well.(The panasonic cameras can't be used outdoors) They couldn't possibly be more difficult to set up. Somehow that sounds like a better deal.
