This is a well weighted hatchet. I'm not sure what Fiskar does to make their tools work so well, but this thing cuts wood like crazy. I find it almost as effective to use as an axe. That makes it great for camping or anything. I highly recommend this tool

A very sturdy (small!) hatchet to buy for yourself, but plastic molding blemishes make it a cheap feeling thing to buy for someone else.

Nice little hatchet but it comes in a large, molded plastic snap-in case with a big carry handle on top. It would look good on the garage wall but it's too bulky to carry in a backpack. Sending it back and will look at an Estwing hatchet from Home Depot instead.
