Accurate for a hobbyist but not a perfectionist November 18, 2009 T. Foltz For perspective, 0.1 degree of accuracy is approximately the height of three stacked pennies at eight feet.
Wixey WR300 Angle Gauge - Inexpensive and Nice November 17, 2009 D. K. Lawson This angle finding gauge is housed in an extruded aluminum body. Mine isn't 100% square. If I flip it 180 degrees on the same surface (where the display has been zeroed) the reading is out by about 0.1 degree. That's not bad though, especially at this price. It's equivalent to about 0.002" per 1".
The controls are basic and easy to use. Similar (and identical) units are available elsewhere for about 20% more. Amazon had the best price. I was also able to use the super saver free shipping which made the purchase even more economical.
Would I buy this again? Yes. It does everything it said it would do and exceeded my expectations.
Not Bad, Could Be Better October 26, 2009 Kevin B. Wells (Nicholson, GA USA) If you just want to double check the accuracy of your saw's angle markings / presets this will do the job. But if you need precision into the hundreths or thousandths, then keep looking.
Operation is simple and the unit is well constructed. The magnet is strong enough to hold the unit but not so strong to make removal hard.
Overall its an average piece of equipment.
Cool Tool October 4, 2009 T. Olson (Grand Rapids, Michigan) Hubby had to have this tool. He said, "You may not use it often, but it's awesome to have." He was happy to open this gift on his birthday.
Good customer service September 25, 2009 JLo I bought this Wixey gauge and for some reason, it stopped working after a day. I emailed the company, and a Wixey family member replyed and had a new one to me right away. That's good customer service, and even though I had a problem, they fixed it quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Wixey product again.
