The SCUBA/Demo is not only the rarest of the Special Forces, SOG knives, it just might be the most rare military knife in existence. In fact, only one is known to exist today. Originally, 39 were made and 38 of these were delivered to the Naval Advisory Detachment for missions on the North Vietnamese coastline. They then were issued to OPLAN 37 ALPHA in 1964. Of the 38 issued, 36 were lost in operations and the two were never seen again.The SOG SCUBA/Demos 7.25 inch, AUS 8 steel blade is a rugged .230 inches thick and is double-edged, featuring a unique full-serration along the spine. It has a full-tang that is surrounded by an Epoxied, stacked leather washer handle that has a beautiful brass pommel with spanner nut. An elegant brass cross guard insures a safe grip and enhances the excellent balance of this incredible knife. Each SOG SCUBA/Demo includes a dark leather sheath, sharpening stone and leather lanyard. May son like the knife so much. I order him one for XMAS 2008 . SOG only mayed a little over 300 of this knife from 1996 to 2008 . I have one with me when I go out . Some knifs I save but this one is to good. I'm trusting may life on what I carrier . I carrier a SOG all the time and a SOG Scuba when I go out back .
