Retactable knife January 1, 2008 Michael O. Malley (lafayette, ny. USA) Best razor knives I have ever used. Very easy to to hold & use, especially since I have mild pain in my fingers. Thanx, Mike
This utility knife sucks November 21, 2007 Peter D. Reimer (New York) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this knife at Leows for around $10.00. I was sucked into the cool way in which the handle opened up with a quick release botton and the hinge at the rear--a very different design than anything I'd seen. But in this case, simpler and cheaper would have been better. Most importantly, the blade does not stay in. Also, sometimes as I was using the blade the handle would open up because I accidently pushed that button on the side. Its a silly place to put the release lever. In fact, there is no need to have a button at all. I realize after using this product that having a machine screw to hold the unit together is better and it has been the standard for a very long time (now I see why). Oh, and that "spring clip" that holds the blades inside that another guy commented on, its too tight and squeezes the blades too hard making them hard to pull out and at most you can fit only three. There is no need for it. Its better to have just an empty cavity inside where the blades can rest. Again, simpler is better. I like Loews and I normally like Irwin products but this item was not a good buy. I wish I kept the receipt so that I could return it.
Great value. June 25, 2007 J. Shultz (Maryland/DC) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I never owned a fixed blade knife. Love the fixed blade. Small, blade is very secure and won't wobble or come out. However, I can not say the same for the retractable knife. I've had the blade pop out several times due to side torque on the blade. There is a "feature" of the knife that allows the blade to be changed without opening the tool. This feature also allows the blade to come loose without opening the tool. I recommend the set simply because of the price/value combination. There are much better retractable blade knives, but not many that match the value of this set. Can not give 5 stars because of design flaw of retractable knife.

This is a great knife. The blades are incredibly sharp. All around great value.
Good Value BUT...... April 27, 2007 Stephen Knopf (Renovating Hotels in Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
GREAT utility knife set! I do NOT have one single complaint! OK...Heres the "BUT" part...Wait until they go on sale! This set has been listed by Amazon for as little as $8.05! If you can hold off and watch (almost daily)as I do, you WON'T regret this purchase at ALL for the price!
