Warranty: Gerber Legendary Blades guarantees this product with a limited lifetime warranty. What's in the box: Gerber Compact Sport Multi-Pliers multitool and nylon sheath. Gerber's History of Ingenuity Savvy. Moxie. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. These are just a few of the company traits that contributed to Gerber's emergence as a world leader in outdoor gear. Joseph Gerber started Portland, Oregon's Gerber Advertising back in 1910, and one Christmas, he hired a local knife-maker to craft 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as client gifts. The knives were so popular, Mr. Gerber ultimately left his agency to launch Gerber Legendary Blades in 1939. It makes sense, really. An idea man gets the idea of a lifetime and turns it into a major outdoor brand -- one that commands respect among knife-lovers and knife-makers alike. And now that same high regard is spreading in new directions, in the form of many outstanding products such as tools, personal L.E.D. lighting, and backpack hydration.

Gerberr One December 27, 2008 Myles Moriarty There is no other utility knife maker besides Gerber. Not Leatherman, or the Wal-MArt special. They are not that exspensive, and they do what they are supposed to do, and more. There is no substitute or replacement.
Best in class December 15, 2008 N. Snook (NJ (USA)) I have bought a few types of this product (victorinox probably being the fanciest and I also went to stores and tried different models). The Gerber blows away any plier I have ever used. Everytime I use this, I still tell myself "I cant believe they sell this so cheap." I have given many as a present to guys who would use something like this all the time, and they give me the best thanks you can get: I catch them carrying it with them or using it. Biggest pluses: * everything locks * the blade is superb (sharp, slightly serrated, it can be (mis)used as a minisaw) * it has scissors (this is a must for me) * Everything can be opened / closed with one hand easily. * The metal is durable and resistant to rust. * It has philips head / regular screw drivers How could you want anything else??? Once I found this model, I was so afraid Gerber would either up the price or stop selling it that I bought 4 just for myself, and 5 for gifts. It has probably been 5 years since then and my other 3 are still sitting in the cases, waiting for the day I break the first one.
Solid and Versatile - Highly Recommended December 11, 2008 CFH (Blue Ridge Summit, PA USA) The "Gerber MP400" is a very well made multi-tool with an innovative design and practical tools. This somewhat compact multi-tool is one of the handiest things to come my way in a long time. The pliers can be deployed one-handed, which is very useful when working in tight quarters. I really like the locking feature for the other tools in the handle (one of my main reasons for buying this model). This is a fairly expensive multi-tool, but it does go on sale occasionally. Highly recommended!
I love this multitool November 30, 2008 Samuel Clemens (St. Louis, Missouri USA) I had this knife for a little over a year. I was in the Boy Scouts (I have since left for college and can't really make the meetings, since they're two hours away from my dorm...) and this was incredibly useful at all of our different outings. I personally like how the tool opens at the flick of your wrist, and once you close it, it stays closed until you want it open. I have a similar tool that won't stay closed or completely open, either. I say "had" because two years ago, it was stolen from me and I haven't seen it since. I highly reccommend this for anybody in the Scouting program or if you do a lot of camping with your own family.
Quality not as good as before July 28, 2008 Manuel Santos (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had one of these for several years, and I love it. However, this one I just received was a complete disappointment. The jaw had interference when closing it, at the wire cutter area. Also, it felt very gritty, like it was tossed around in fine dirt. I also think the case is too big - bigger than the one I currently have (and it's the same model). Unfortunately, I had to return it for a refund. Gerber, what happened to your quality?
