Precision problems August 19, 2008 M. Ackel (Florida) It has many precision problems, mainly capacitance and inductance. I've lost confidence on it and I'm using my old multimeter again.
Plenty of features for the money March 23, 2008 Jonathan A. Kanner (Raiwaqa, Suva, Fiji) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
By keeping modest ambitions for accuracy and speed, the designers of this unit managed to pack a lot of functionality into a cheap and relatively simple to use unit. So far, great utility for a "first look" at a suspect component or circuit, and a great way to sanity check inconsistent readings from (fussy) lab grade equipment costing 100 to 1000 times more. Will it last? hard to say, but judging from ruggedness of the case and feel of the controls, etc. it has at least as good a chance of lasting a few years as less capable instruments from bigger name brand companies. Older eyes appreciate the large display digits and the backlight. If it had a slot for an SD card to store readings and programmable time intervals for taking data, I'd be tempted turn our Agilent back into the tool crib and borrow it only when the higher accuracy is really needed. all in all, I think I'll like it most of the time and forgive it on the basis of a cheap price the rest of the time.
