I made the decision to buy this portable meter because I was looking for one that allow me to measured most of the parameter in a typical circuit. This equipment is capable to measure (within an acceptable range) capacitance, inductance, frequency and temperature at very low cost. So, I am satisfied with this one.

It`s a good tool for students, but it`s not enough to work...regular presicion in low measurements....just good!!!

I've only had this a couple of days, but observations so far: The meter seems sturdy and solidly made with a rubberized coating on the case. The multifunction switch is slightly stiff but clicks firmly from one function to the other, the buttons work well and are seated snugly in the case with no evidence of contact problems. The test leads are fine, come with covers and caps for each end. The banana plugs have safety covers, so they may not work with older equipment. The temperature probe seems to work fine, but the meter reads only in Centigrade. The user manual is okay, many reviews complain about the grammer problems of Kaito's manuals, but they are not significant in this one. The little booklet has a key to all the buttons and switches and a little section for each function illustrating how to connect the leads with an explanation of how to get a reading. If one needs something to explain the tests, look elsewhere.
FUNCTIONS:
As noted in the previous review, ohms only to 20M, not a serious flaw in my opinion.
Capacitance: requires lead insertion into a small test socket, not suitable for polarized caps and range is limited.
Hfe: A little socket for insertion of small signal transistors, seems to work, not suitable for transistors types made without thin wire leads.
All other functions seem to work as they should.
SUMMARY:
Time will tell - if this is fully functional 5 years from now, I will consider it a really fantastic buy. As it is - a nice little meter with lots of nifty features for a modest price, well suited for the audio work I will be using it for.

Hi,
I was disappointed that Amazon lists the resistance up to 200 M-ohms. This meter only goes to 20 M-ohms.
