Best of the micro tools September 29, 2007 James G. Timourian (New Jersey, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have Leatherman Micra, bought the SOG Crosscut, a Gerber product, and one other of these similarly sized tools. One had a pliers, the rest scissors. I did not want one that had aluminum scales although they are a bit lighter, since the aluminum anodizing shows wear over time. These tools were all similar in size and function. What makes me say that the Crosscut is the best is that when you open it so that you have the scissors available the opening process goes smoothly and easily. All of the others had some resistance to opening - the Crosscut was much more pleasant to open and close. Otherwise the quality of construction and the tools were similar. Stainless does not mean rustproof, and one of my much older Micras shows signs of color, but I expect that would be true for any of these. Now if they only made one with titanium handles ...
It Wants To Be A Leatherman Micra April 18, 2007 Morpheus (SE USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased a new SOG CrossCut to see how it would compare with my Leatherman Micra. There is no comparison. The SOG is inferior. The scissors became loose within a week of use, and now will not cut warm butter. The overall quality of the SOG CrossCut is mediocre at best in comparison to any Leatherman product. If you are going to use such a mini multitool often, and/or you are considering a larger multitool - avoid SOG. Buy a Leatherman. SOG customer service is a form of torture. Caveat Emptor!
Sturdy, handy multi-tool December 29, 2003 Rick M. (Anchorage, AK United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This tool is great and quite sturdy. It's great to carry in your pocket because of its small size. This scissors are exceptionally sharp and are staying sharp over time. You can't go wrong for the price.
